Ok, the movie was awesome (I thought) but the *****SPOILER WARNING*****SPOILER WARNING*****SPOILER WARNING***** introduction of the cosmic cube at the end kind of pisses me off. I don't know that much about comics and what not, but if you had the cosmic cube, couldn't the holder just wish for all super villains to be dead, or vise versa?

There was a review done by the local newspaper, they were going in with Norwegian Pride and hoping for a Norwegian filled moment....they were disappointed.

It's not really a spoiler. The Cosmic Cube has been around for like 50 years, and anyone who is familiar with Thor (or Marvel Comics in general) knows about it :)

Basically, things like the Cosmic Cube and Infinity gems etc. are horrible ideas from Marvel which leave gaping plot holes everywhere you look. Didn't expect them to bring in such stupid ideas to the big screen, but I guess somebody thought it was cool.

How stupid is it? Basically, if you have the cosmic cube, you can destroy an entire galaxy in a second if the wielder wishes it so.

The point is that you should not try to bring logic into Marvel (or DC) comics. It just doesn't work that way :)

I think Brad Pitt could pull off the role of MLK, heh. You gotta remember though, when Thor was created, it was totally acceptable to be racist. Nowadays, not so much. What we have here is a paradigm shift.

What do you mean when Thor was created? The film or the actual god? Thor is just some Norse god the Vikings believed in, but im not sure what the Vikings thought about different races lawl

They changed so much from the comics, but it was all for the better. The movies is just awesome as a pure action super-hero move.

Another thing. The black dude ruled as Heimdall, the Guardian of the Rainbow Bridge.

When Thor was created, racism was rampant as Coach pointed out. We have moved on from the dark ages to the age of enlightenment and civilization. Petty things like the color of one's skin should not be how things are judged :)

''raw as F*CK'' and ''probably better than fast five'' should never be used in the same sentence.

I'm fine with this^^
But it just doesnt make any sense to throw a black dude in Asgard, let alone Valhalla. They gonna cast Alexander Skarsgard as a member of the kwanzaa tribal council or whatever the F*CK africans believe/ believed in?

The movies was good but not great. It was really a stage setting up "The Avengers" more than anything. It gave some background on Thor but basically was like the prequel to The Avengers.

They have been trying to set up the Avengers since the first Iron Man. It will be awesome.

I watched the 3D version twice this weekend because of conflicting schedules of my friends but I didn't have to pay for one of them. The movie was ok, nothing to the level of the Dark Knight series but it didn't suck. Kat Dennings made me chuckle alot I love her as an actress. I also agree with Reborn, the black dude did a good job with the character to the point it wouldn't have mattered that he was black. The 3D was disappointing as usual, I hate watching these films in 3D but it was the only version playing before noon so it was still cheaper at $9 then full price of $12 after the noon hour. It's worth a look at the theater, but not good enough in my opinion to buy, I will download this one when it's released on dvd.

AMC up here in Canada has a wicked $6 deal if you go before noon on weekends and holidays. I don't know what the deal in the States is but my friends and I love going for the 11am movies on a quiet sunday morning when there are no crowds. 3D movies you add $3 for the shitty glasses.
