the bailouts were the only thing that kept your country from heading to a serious depression close to that of the 1930's. If they had let capitalism handle itself your unemployment rate woudl've been close to 40% instead of the 10-15% it was/is nationally and there would've been a hell of a lot more social disruption and griping going on. Plus the bailout money was paid back in full and then some long ago, not many people hear about it though because of the distortion of facts that happens all the time in the US. Doesn't matter what's true anymore, just what people opt to believe to be true.

edit: oh yea, and the bailout money didn't solely benefit your country either, it stabilized parts of the global economy as well.

Actually, I'm pretty sure a lot of the banks that have received TARP funds are paying them back if they haven't paid them already. And regardless whether you agree with what he has done in office or not, one president is not ever the sole cause of everything that happens in our government - even Bush.

Obama was not the cause of the economy crashing. He didnt really help the situation, but when your in 2 wars and pay billions to other countrys so they dont help the terriorists, plus cut taxes on all the people who can afford to actually pay them, plus leave enough open loop holes in corporate tax law to let most corporations pay virtually nothing, all while spending more than we take in anyway...yea, the economy is more inherited from the previous president than anything else.

But, in all fairness, if the Republicans could put forth a canidate that has the brass and track record of not being a complete moron then I would consider voting for them. i personaly support increased defense budget spending and whatnot

I'm pretty sure if any of us took a new job and not only didn't we show improvement...but made things worse....by our own policies and/or decisions...we would not get away with blaming the guy before us. What gives anyone the right to demand that I pay 50% of my earnings ( with state, local, and sales) of what I earn....so it can be redistributed to the "poor". By the way...I do care...and contribute on my own ~15% of my gross to charity. That's far more than the Democratic leaders.....and all we hear from the main stream press is how Republicans and Conservatives are mean spirited and want to kill Grandma. When in reality its the Dems that really don't care about anything but staying in power. Check out Biden's tax return he gave less than 1% to charity.
