So I have been looking into different jobs available to me if I decide to get out of the navy and the Arlington police department offered me a good deal I think i'm not from Texas so I really have no idea if this is a good city or anything but base starting off pay is close to 48k a year which is higher then the city's average salary. But what I want to know is if this is a good city to live in ?

Im not trying to get shot. I could just stay in the navy and live in san diego but that shit is expensive as hell to live there. Texas is cheap.

I am not set on just there I am looking and comparing cost of living to the pay Austin police department pays very well. In the academy there I would be making about 4300 a month with my GI bill. So I am really just floating my option I am looking at Texas because the cost of living is lower and the pay is higher. Also houses are really cheap there. Compared to Florida.

You should look at the Round Rock area too...3,000 SF houses for 130K. Cheap cheap cheap. I'd move there if my wife could make as much there as she makes here. (Odessa/Midland area)
