 heatsink fan question
so my fan quit on my heat-sink how ever i have a fan i pulled off another comp before i tossed it can i just swap the fans cause i only have the fan not the whole heat-sink .

I would assume you could, as long as either the fans are the same size and shit. Dont know what cooler youre running.. stock HSF? if so, what socket type.. yadda yadda

well idk they are both about the same age both are amd ,same size and plug is the same just wondering if these come with diff cooling capacities

It should work regardless, as long as the plugs match up.
However, I would recommend getting an aftermarket one - or an OEM one.

OK thanks ill give it a try if it doesn't work ill probably get a new computer because the one in question is really old i don't wanna put any money in it

Yeah new comps! :D Anywho new HSF would prob cost you like 30-40 bucks for a pretty decent one. Cheaper than getting an entirely new comp.

well i did it i swapped fans from a old comp and it works fine so far ....
