Why is it that "some people" (closet cases) think gays and lesbians can't keep it in their pants. Project much?

Is it such a surprise that soldiers, airmen and marines care more about serving with someone who is competent than who that person fucks.

So...Scenario: You meet someone, they say, "Oh, by the way, I'm gay." Man - Woman, doesn't matter. What's the first thing that comes to your mind about them?

Once again, just seeking answers here, not being a judge. This question is for everyone, not just Vauk.

exactly if it really doesn't matter why the F*CK do people feel the need to tell others about there sexual habits ?

Quite honestly this has happened to me plenty. I'll be hanging out with a friend or something similar and they either announce it or I figure it out through clues that they drop.

Way back when, when I was in Iowa and gays were completely closeted, I would have been completely frightened and defensive. I'd have assumed they wanted to f me in the a.

Now that I've been around that block a few times and been exposed to homosexuals who were comfy with themselves rather than flaunting it out of insecurity (or dare I say, fake homo's who are pretending in order to get attention), I can honestly say that it doesn't faze me one bit. I honestly believe that there is a biological difference in these people.

There's a youtube I found awhile ago where the documentary people go around and ask people "so what age did you decide that you were straight?" The reactions from people are amazing. It's a great question to consider when it comes to thinking seriously about interacting.

I dont see why this is such a big deal. there are gays in the military and have been since its beginnings. all this does now is doesnt get them kicked out for telling their CO.

I say good for them

Post Re: Don't Ask, Don't Tell....
here are 3 cents

1)for the most part i think and agree that serving openly doesnt matter to most military persons in a fox hole

2)right now the military is segregated by men and women, i have yet to hear of a male and female staying together in a barracks. this protects both parties cuz there are some crazy fucks that would and have in the past raped chicks. on the other side of that coin there are some dumb bitches that say it happend just to get back at a guy. now with gay and lesbians how will they be bunked? you cant bunk them in with a straight person, (what if that straight person is closed minded and unsecure and claimes sexual assault or rape even) and you cant stick a gay guy in a chicks room for the possiblity he's just posing gay to stay with a chick? also how will they do bootcamps? they are split up for men and women for these very reasons? and you cant say just train them and stick them all together, that would never happen.

3)I can see the conservative christian stand point too. gay=hell. if you're a "good" chirstian you dont want people going to "hell" if you think you can help them. and thier form of help is shoving religion down your throat. Granted most people dont have alot of contact with the gay community apart from what they see on tv. and thats what scares people. the flaming homo running around san fransico in a angel costume with assless chaps and rainbow colored wings singing "its raining men". and most of those guys look like they could never even think about picking up a rifle. besides, isnt that kind of hypocritical? open gays are joining a mainly chistian army to go kill people that have a polar opposite view of america but they still use guys for fun and women for strictly breeding?

4)I think it'd be easier for gays and lesbians to accept a strong "civil" union before an actual "marriage" a civil union is a strictly legal binding agreement to become one entity (please note-NO RELIGION CONTAMINATION) the only difference for a marriage is that it has that religousness built into (like a church and a rite) it. If they want a "marriage" go get civil unioned, then go start your own church.

If they're just telling me to let me know, and they're not trying to hit on me, I'm 100% cool with it. If they ARE trying to hit on me, I'll just tell them that I'm not gay. If they persist, THEN it's a problem.
