I've got the first side cut and the second side measured and taped off. Silly work impeding progress.

Those plans call for 3/4'' plywood. That shit is too expensive, so I'm using thinner plywood, but thick enough to do what I need it to.

God that looks nice, makes me jealous that I got no projects to do :( I just sit and get fat.

Once I finish it, I'm going to rub my ass ALL OVER IT.

So far total costs have been:

Wood + cabinet hardware = $104
Control Panel = $130 (Yes, thank you sweet pea. :D)

I've already got an old system to use for it and a small monitor, but will eventually upgrade it.

Strange, good thing for all the tape you used. If you hadn't I wouldn't reccomend rubbing your ass on it. Splinters galore! As far as the 3/4 inch plywood goes. F*CK that! 1/2 inch will do just fine. It's not supporting enough weight to use 3/4. Plus, as long as the framing it right you could use anything you want, as long as you don't rage on it to much. Lookin good so far man. Keep us posted.

In Hito's defense, a 'cabinet' can be made from several different materials.

Arcade cabinets specifically are made out of wood.

It would be pretty brutal if I had the money to make it out of metal.

Here is some of my stuff...I didn't realize you could buy and build your own cabinet. Your cut out looks great. If I did it that way...instead of ebay...my cabinet would be screwed up. You will be able to run a lot more games than I can. The upright has football and basketball. Its on a really old drive..that I need to change out. I wonder if I could add games. The C*CK table has frogger, ms pacman, galaxia, donky kong. Good times when everybody has a game to play.

I want to do a C*CK table as well, I think those are just awesome but thats an adventure for another time.

But I really will only need one cabinet doing it this way because I can run any effing game I want too.

I may build another one for console specific games....I don't know, unless there is an awesome ass emulator, I'll have to have a bigger paycheck every month.

I played pong....fu tazz. That's my basement....and the other half has a small bar and then the 60" HDTV home theater. Its a new house...for me. I finished the basement...its a little smaller than what I had...no much room for the ping pong table. My son always aims for the hockey table..so I can't return it. That's the asswipe...who has taken over my man cave....playing xbox.

Yes, very true. But most of the ones i've ever made were out of MDF. Or hardwoods. This project of yours makes me want to get back into cabinet making :o It's fun and easy! What are you gonna end up doing once the box is built ? I mean for looks. Are you gonna paint the sucker, or put like a vaneer on it or something ? Sorry about all the questions. It's just interesting to me!
