 Re: Working out
Yes..
Id also avoid milk/oj before, stuff that makes your spit sticky as it makes it hard to breath/swallow when working out

 Re: Working out
Zuol wrote: One small question that i would like everyone's opinion on. I am going to be going to the gym later in the evenings. Should i eat dinner before or after i work out. I dont know if this makes a difference or not but i was just curious. Question: how close is your workout to your bedtime? General principles: 1) eat a decent size meal 90-120 minutes before working out. Include 80-100g of slow digesting carbs (wheat, whole grain, sweet potatoes) and 30-40g of protein (not whey or any fast digesting protein) and avoid fats. 2) the 2 hours after weight lifting (if your actually trying) is called the 'anabolic window.' It sounds like your body type is partly ectomorph (meaning your skinny) so its extremely important to inhale food after you workout. Immediately after working out you can eat fast digesting 60-80g carbs and 40-50g protein and NO fats. An hour later you can eat again 40g carbs and 30g protein (i usually eat home cooked burgers) and some fats are ok. 3) One of the most important dietary principles to avoid getting unnecessary fat is to not eat carbs near bedtime. Carbs = energy and you don't need energy to sleep so your body stores it as fat. That's why I asked how close is your workout to your bedtime. If your an ecto you should be fine especially if your young but you should still keep this principle in mind. Your last meal should consist of good fats and protein. My last meal of the day is usually natural peanut buter and apples or a big ass omelette. 4) Keep in mind that proper nutrition requires 5-6 smaller meals rather than 3 big meals. Being an ecto you'll have to eat a lot more than other body types. Normally I eat around 3500 calories a day and thats just to maintain a bodyweight of around 175lbs. Being an ecto is a pain in the ass but IMO overall we have the best body type for health and longevity.

 Re: Working out
Yea. im definitely and ecto... I can eat what ever I want and no matter what i stay the same size. But unfortunately I know that will change in the late 20's. Which is one reason I want to start now so i get use to going to the gym and eating right. I eat great food throughout the day. I am perfectly healthy. I usually have a bowl of cereal in the morning. I snack mostly up until dinner (nothing horrible. What ever is laying in the fridge. Carrots with dip, fruits, ill make spegettios or something idk.) Then for dinner, my family has family dinner and my mom thinks she is a chef so i always have a VERY balanced meal at dinner. She makes sure you get a little bit of everything. Meat, vegitable or fruits, bread, and w/e else goes with what were havning.

 Re: Working out
lol iv been trying to go to the gym more too, i take some whey protein shakes right after working out as that is the best time. for me i cant really eat before i work out because it slows me down sometimes so i usually eat after i work out, even if i take whey protein. i try not to eat a bunch of carbs but college food = eh. but im an ecto so it kinda helps
