They won't -- porting it to the orange box allows them to continue to integrate the improvements they're working on (they stopped caring about the hl2 engine) and allows them to penetrate the mac (and linux) gaming markets.

server not being tweaked by our genius staff yet
40,000 nerd gamers pounding the server with join attempts
settings that come as default that we need to change


regardless it's like this with any decent size change that's thrust upon us. there are always people who want to revert. but you must realize that it's always darkest before the dawn. CHIN UP LITTLE PARDNER

They aren't coded for the new engine.. Wait and it'll be back within a week or 2.



Blame your government for that. Germany and Canada are the only 2 that I know about with that, AND IT'S F*CKING HILARIOUS! Oh and the ragdoll wasn't even that good for the people that are losing it and although it's a shitty death animation(really shitty, but what can you expect for censoring in a game that requires killing military personnel and terrorists), I'd rather have a solid animation upon death than the shitty ragdoll effect that is in place now.

Not really that big of a deal. Most servers that were 66tic was because of the amount of players on the server. Big ass pub = lower tic to handle that amount of players.



LOL really? Lets help out the hackers and them cheating in servers. F*CK the TOS they agreed to and F*CK the legit players that get killed by them. Hey, I think we should just get rid of VAC too so the cheaters can't get banned because they are only having fun! Worst one out of the group.

LOL at arguing about Lua scripting.

Towards the end, the number of people using Lua scripting hacks were unreal -- like 3 different people each day trying to use Lua scripting exploits to crash the server and another 5 or 6 using various Lua cvar overriding hacks.

People who crash the server and those who use Lua scripting to gain an advantage both take away from the gameplay -- It's lulzy when people try to pretend they're "legit Lua scripters"

I still haven't gone through the logs from the last few weeks from the cheat detector, but I think it's safe to say that there will be another 20-30 bans from those logs.

I just want the game breaking bugs to be fixed (enemies appearing as crouch running at full speed, appearing with friendly skins, becoming invisible/static on your screen while you are getting shot etc.). I don't know if these occur only if you alt-tab and return to the game, but I need to check my email every time I die.

Have you tried running it windowed? I haven't seen any of these problems but I run windowed

I haven't tried it in windowed mode yet, but I experienced those bugs every single time I played (I'm an avid alt-tabber). There is nothing more frustrating than:

You see enemy.
Enemy is crouched and facing away from you.
You empty all the clips on him. Not a single damgage is registered.
You get near him to see what's going on, and you are shot from behind...by the enemy who is in front of you.

They are either invisible (you get killed, and then see the enemy is across the map but know they don't hack) or crouched, and always facing the opposite direction.

The only thing worse than that is getting killed by your teammate, and then it shows him as the enemy. From that point on you can't differentiate between friend and foe.

Tonight I'll play only on windowed mode to see if it happens again.

Seeing people crouch running at full speed is more of an inconvenience than game breaking, although you are aiming at their crotch when you think you are aiming at their heads.

Bottom line here: less QQ, more pew pew.

maybe your hacks are out of date...you should try updating them

I saw the "phantom player" too, but it was only ONE player, same as Reborn. Since my setup is completely stock, I must assume that that player has somethin funky going on, or my install was corrupt in the same way as Reborn.

Other than that, no qq from me.

Spyda what the F*CK are you talking about? Canada has no censorship laws for games, Germany has a blood rule and no cop killing. I worked in the gaming industry for years so yes I know this for a fact and I worked for one of the companies that got in the most shit for breaking the rules.
