Post Computer spec thread
I havent seen one of these, so I thought it would be interesting to see what every1 was gaming with inside their computer.

Asus P5QC Mobo (DDR2 and DDR3 support, with an LGA775 processor, very cool)

Intel Core2Quad Q6600 2.4GHz

G.Skill Ripjaws 4GB DDR3 1333MHz

ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 RAM (the biggest POS i have ever used.) i will never buy another ATI product ever again, it overheats like a mofo, and has tons of problems on BC2

Seagate 640GB HDD

Win 7 Ultimate x64 (using x32 right not on a second partition cause EA thought it would make BC2 run better, which i knew was bs but thought it couldnt hurt to try)

::EDIT::

adding my CPU-Z Info

No I know, I was just being a dick (since ops != cycles so technically its not MHz but something elseMT/s) "RAM Speed : 666.6 MHz (3:5) @ 7-7-7-21" -- That looks like nice RAM -- has good reviews on Newegg too -- and for that speed that looks likethat is the lowest latency you can get.

my board only supports DDR2 or some crippled version of DDR3 IIRC :-(

o ok, lol. i have no idea about mt/s or that stuff, but i did a lot of research b4 buying this ram and it all said very good things about it. i really need to upgrade my video card to an nvidia tho, i have so many problems with this ati card, and my monitor is pretty crappy too. a 21" asus monitor, but it has it doesnt show words very well, its really annoying.

Thats sweet -- and your SS doesn't do you justice (probably because you have frequency scaling / power saving mode on) -- your CPU has a core speed of 2.66GHz

PS Click Validate and post the link nucka

Do you guys think that its worth it? Usually, I'll get a good system, then upgrade a piece here, a piece there, then all of the sudden, buy a ton of new stuff but maybe keep the memory or a harddrive, and then continue with the piece here piece there routine.

Do you think the sites that build for you is cheaper? or at least not too much more than individually?

Absolutely cheaper as a whole, esp. if you factor in the time it takes you to build a machine from scratch.

I specced out a very similar system on newegg and it ended up being $200 more pre-shipping.

The extreme value for cyberpower/ibuy/etc comes when you game them to get free shipping. The value is just tremendous-- I've not bought a non-cyberpower for probably 8 years now, and have saved literally thousands of dollars while staying up to date on gaming.

think I should be changing a setting somewhere? if it will hurt the effective life of my hardware I wouldnt be interested (bought an iPad this yr, my comp's gotta last another year), but if it's a "free" speed increase let me know :D
