Laptops overheat easily.

That processor couldn't even handle source (it's a CPU dependent game) as it doesn't support multi-core processors so it will only use one, even though it says it will be using more than one.

Macs are only nice, because the are easy to use and simplify taking care of it. They suck because nothing runs on them, and running boot camp and cs would blow, don't bring up bootcamp.

Oddly enough, I run something similar to this laptop.

I also run source.

Edit: I just ran the video stress test, and averaged 144fps with Google chrome and Cod:MW2 running in the background.

I can't believe people still believe Mac's are better than PC's.

EDIT: Also, State's an idiot. Source is a 5 year old game. Most decent laptops should get 100 fps in source.

If they don't (and there are many) that's because the game is very poorly (if at all) optimized.

I game just fine on my laptop....

GTX 260M is a nice F*CKING card, even better when I have two of them...though I am with the crowd that is with SLI, its quite overrated, not much of a difference but still man.

MACS - Workhorse. Little software clashes/issues if you know what you're doing. Bad for gaming in the aspect that the way they're designed you can't really upgrade part for part. Gotta buy a new system. Gaming is limited on them.

PCs - Workhorse/Playhorse/Sex toy. You can do anything you want with them. More software issues and hardware conflicts if you're an idiot. Highly customizable and can be constantly upgraded without purchasing a whole new system.

Laptops - Sure you can game on them. If you're gay.

(my two balls.)

Also, dicks.

I'd give more of a damn if they did this for linux instead. I really don't care too much for macs personally.

I actually work on a mac, and my next computer will be a mac. Saw this on a tech blog the other day, pretty damn cool. Though you could always just bootcamp into windows on your mac if you really wanted to.

The best part about this thread is people who say macs are gay, lol. Have any of you actually used a mac in the last decade? Let alone the latest OS?

Yeah, and I'm not too fond of OSX. I'm not going to say that Macs are gay, but they are insanely overpriced and they use lowest-common-denominator hardware whenever they can, just like everyone else. I had quite the experience with snow leopard when I installed it on a flat-panel iMac that I got for my mom (tired of fixing her virus/spyware issues). It's built for retards to such an extent that it's frustrating. It's pretty, and has some pretty cool features... I like the file management system: everything is image-based, and there's no registry. Installation of just about any application entails just moving a disk image to your drive. That's pretty slick, and that's why Mac's don't slow down over time like Windows boxes.

My huge problem with OSX is that it's *nix-based yet it's so GUI oriented. They took the absolute hands-down most powerful command line interface in the world and turned it into a toy for retards. A *nix-based OS without a powerful CLI is a joke.

Also, if you've ever tried to install anything manually... it's got all of the dependency issues of Linux.

Wow hooker, what a waste of $2400! My sister has a Mac and every once in a while I play with it to see what all the hoopla is about. Well, it's basically a over priced piece of shit that just makes everything pretty and over simplified. She is already getting frustraited that she has to drive 30 minutes down the highway to find the closest Apple store to buy shit for it. I used her mouse and keyboard for ten minutes and wanted to chuck the F*CKING things out the window. I have more important things to waste my money on then a computer I can build myself for a 1/4 of the cost to do the same thing and play games the Mac can't.
