There was a guy stuck in a metal room with a metal door.The door was locked and there were no windows. The following items were inside the room: a piano, table,a saw,and a bat. How did the man get out? There is 3 ways to get out.

1) use nikolai tesla's method of finding the harmonic frequency of the wall/door/whatever. this could be done with the piano, assuming the walls are of a length divisible by the harmonics of one of the keys. then, extrapolate that out to a frequency he could attain with the bat. then, tap the walls at that frequency at a harmonics point until they destroy themselves.

The Answer to the Riddle
First, he played the piano until he found the right key.

Second, he sawed the table in half then held the two pieces together. Two halves make a whole.(hole)

Third, he swung the bat three times. Three strikes, he's out.

that reminded me of this riddle:

you're in a hallway that leads to a room. Next to you are three switches, one of which corresponds to a lamp in the room at the opposite end of the hall. Your job is to figure out which switch goes to the lamp. Once you enter the room, the door locks behind you, so it's a one-way trip. The door to the room has no window, is sealed and sound proof. How do you figure out which switch it is?

fun fact: i can find the resonance note of just about any finely crafted glass (esp. wine) using my violin. it's easy to tell once you know what to listen for.

Open the door but do not enter and then go back and try the switches till you find the one that lights up the darkend room sine there are no windows so room should be dark.

You can't keep/prop it open. The door closes automatically. Sorry, guess i should have clarified/mentioned that.

The point of the riddle is that you cant see the lamp yet you have to figure out which of the three switches goes to it and you only get one shot.

the other switches unlock and open the door. so u flip all the switches and the door unlocks and opens and u can than easily figure out which turns the light on.

Maybe Tesla does the astro.

Take one switch and select it to be left off (call it S1).

Turn a different switch on (call it S2), wait a few minutes, turn it off.

Immediately turn on the last switch (call it S3) and go into the room with the lamp.

If the bulb is off and cold to the touch, the lamp is controlled by S1.

If the bulb is off but warm (since it was just on for a few minutes but now off), the lamp is controlled by S2.

If the bulb is on, the lamp is controlled by S3.

PS. You need to somehow establish that the light is initially off and that the bulb is controlled by only one of the three switches. EDIT: You did #2.

No I've just heard it before -- we did a ton of those puzzle story things in my LSAT class. That would be pretty ballin' if I just figured it out like that though.

If the bulb was LED would it be warm? OR IS THE QUESTION OUTDATED?
