I'm seriously considering getting a beer-related tattoo pretty soon, but I suck at art. I don't want to pay someone to design the tattoo for me, 'cause that shit's expensive. What I can do, however, is offer homebrew in exchange. I've got several different styles on tap and several on the way. If you design art that I like and decide to get tattooed, I'll send you an assorted 6-pack of your choice (choices will be presented upon victory). It'll be some of the best beer you've ever had, I promise. Note: you must be 21 or older for me to send you beer. If you're not 21+, I'll think of something else.

What I'm currently playing around with is the idea of a few hops (2-3) sorta clustered together in the middle, and then a few stalks of 2-row barley to either side, forming a "seal" type design. Think of the barley as parenthesis and the hops as the @ symbol in this design: ( @ )

Since it's going to be a tattoo, there must be black lines tracing/outlining the edges and/or every detail.

most beers that hold any standard in the beer community usually have some sort of crest that represents their brand.

you can have some sort of central icon that represents you or your beer and surround it with barley or hops or whatever

personally, i think you should F*CK kano's face with your foot. tattoos are supposed to mean something to the owner, and not some F*CKING show for others. i like your idea for the tatt, although i would reccommend adding some more personalization to it. however, my creative side is severely lacking at the moment, so if i think of anything i'll post again.

Size.. this one will help us help you figure out your design how big are we looking at/for to design it.

I did my tatoo all on computer graphics through photoshop. I can attempt to do the same for you. how do you feel about maybe a keg somewhere in the picture, or a pint of beer or something like that. Do you want the hops to be the focal point of the picture. Finding a focal point makes the rest easier..

lastly in all technicality if that's even a word lol.. you don't need black outlining everything in the original picture. what they'll do if its the same as up here is they'll take your picture and trace it on transparent paper to put on your body, the black may come as a side effect to help your artist see better. and in the end of the tattoo you may not even notice teh outline if he/she does it thin enough

Most people don't really understand the gravity of my love for beer. I'm a total beer nerd, and obsess about all things beer. I have subscriptions to two beer magazines, a 4-tap kegerator (with about $2,000 invested in it), and over $2,500 worth of brewing equipment. I brew at least twice a month -- sometimes twice every weekend. I've got two pounds of hops sitting in my freezer. Why? Because I order them in bulk 'cause it's cheaper and I know I'll use 'em. 2 lbs of hops is enough to make anywhere between 50 to 150+ gallons of beer. GALLONS of beer. I'm part of the American Homebrewer's association and a relatively large Homebrewer's guild in my area. My big vacation for the year is the Great American Beer Festival in Denver (in Sept). I spend time around local breweries on the weekend, often bullshitting with their brewmasters/brewstaff. It's what I do. I F*CKING LOVE beer.

my brother goes to that beer festival every year. he used to work for Flying Dog brewery before they moved their operations to the northeast. now he works at The Great Divide in denver. he's not a brewer, but a bottler, but he gets all sorts of free beer. it's a shame i can no longer drink :(
