haha, especially now with the "upgraded interface" it's a mess if you're just starting out. I suggest you go lite, which is a little easier to wrap your mind around: http://lite.facebook.com

As far as I know, you'll only want to use your real name on there. This is so old high school ladies you once dated can find you and start obsessing over how things would have been if you could have just ended up together, etc etc etc.

I've made many booty calls made possible completely by facebook. My most recent long term relationship was with a girl who idolized me in high school and found me on facebook. I set up get togethers via facebook for when i'm back in my hometown. When i'm going to a concert alone and I want someone else to come along, facebook is the first place I think of.

Other than that it's an attention whoring tool, a measure of e-peen (how many friends do YOUUU have? i have 0505230532), and yet another way to stalk hot chicks. So basically, it's awesome.

What dirk says is 100% true in the sense of using your real name, vs your online alias.

I was on the phone with a friend of mine from cali a few days ago and we were talking about how we wondered wtf peeps from elementry school were doing. So we went threw and search peeps profiles through their friends to find the ones we were looking for. Worked out well i added like 10 peeps i completely forgot about. Some ladys got F*CKING hot and others i just Loled at because they looked even more fuked than they used to hahaha

I actually have Facebook set up to where only my friends can see my comments or people that comment on anything I do. Not friends of friends. So, add me, AFRICAN AMERICAN. Nobody can see it unless you want them to.
