As far as kit, if this hit the fan, i would need a team of at least three.

a mechanic, a medic, and myself.

I would bring along military issue claymores, M16 with shotgun/m203 attachments. at least three cans of ammo for each.

I would take our HUMMVEE to Virgina and stockpile from an undisclosed military instilation and raid the weapons development labs (yes they do exist) for SHTF(shit hit the fan) weapons. Would also raid the national gold reserve for a few bars for bartering purposes.

All and all i would have:
3 personel (9 Ideal)
3 HUMMVVEE with TOW, 50cal turret, and MK-19 grenade turret all with ample ammunition.
1 Duce and a half to carry survivors and equipment
3-9 XA-18 Carbide with resin shell and spare parts. (was gonna become the next m-16 but some asshat in the marines shot it down from what i was told due to "tradition")
MREs to last one month
A water purification system aside from bleach tablets
an attachment bay with 2 100 gal cylinders for a flame thrower attachment on the Duce and a half
Assault gear and extra for any survivors.
GPS (if satalight positioning still works)
Night Vision mounts with HUD
Eventualy we will aqquire a 155 howitzer for fortification of a base of operations. once fired im damn sure wed have to pack up quickly, so it would be more used as a decoy to lure them to a specified area.
enough C4 to rearrange MT Rushmore.

as i would imagin camo, would be useless if they run off the sence of smell, i would take cammo coveres and tarp them along my vehicles. a deployable FOB (forward operating base) to be carred by the duce. tree and urban clearing equipment.

what i would eventualy do is go accross the country side and raid various military instilations, or resupply at those that held the line. in a world where money means nothing, if they are old enough to know what money was, then flash that gold bar and trade it for ammo, food, and fresh water. after i knock off a few officer zombies, i would head for the ports of california. using tugs and ferrys, i would take my contingent accross the ocean to hawaii, where we would do our best to eradicate the local infestation, and keep the state isolated and steryl (as it is considered today). once established, we would send teams out to the mainland every month or so to restock on various mainland equipment if absolutly necessary, and to look for survivors to ferry over tot he islands. after a comfortable 12 day (or what ever the accepted gestation of zombification would be) of quarenteen, they would be assigned a task in the islands.

alot longer than i wanted it to be....

BTW, i may not have mentioned that if i become infected, i will have a tactical nuclear warhead in the underbelly of my duce and a half. pending on the speed of the infection, i would pull the howitzer to a city and fire off a 155 round to get thier attention, then detonate the warhead, going out with a bang as it were.

as much as i hate the military i have to admit, if the zombies do come, we are very well equiped with survival training, equipment, knowledge and organized tactics. my only main worry, is hitting up cigarette and jack daniels stocks. might need a 5 ton to carry all my camels and jack.

We talked about something similar to this a while back. Our discussion swung more towards the marshal law side of things. In that case if the government asks, I have lost all my weapons in a serious boating accident a while back. I am loading my truck up with family (those I like) and friends and heading for the Upper Peninsula to hide in the woods. We would do this until we either died or got caught, most likely we wouldn't be taken alive. Our tools and supplies would be the same for the zombie invasion.

Add to that list pure Colombian crank so as to get a speed start on zombies with my gear of cheapo weapons (and go crazy with a katana)
