Post need new computer
ok so some of you may have noticed i havent been around for the last few days. well thats because my graphics card on my laptop took a massive shit on me, blank screens and crashes my computer any time i try and download drivers for it (on both win7 and XP, ya ive tried 2 diff OS).

so i need some help fixing this problem. i have a very limited budget for doing this so the cheapest idea will most likely be the best.

i found these deals on best buy ans sams club website but im not sure if i couldnt just build a better desktop for less...
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+I545S-1476N+Desktop+with+Intel%26%23174%3B+Pentium%26%23174%3B+Processor+%26+18.5%22+LCD+Monitor/9999119000050003.p?id=pcmprd119100050003&skuId=9999119000050003
and

tell me what you tink or point me in a better direction
thanks in advance

So I assume that your price limit is $500ish and no more. I've personally had some bad experiences with Dell and Gateway, so I would not recommend either to anyone. I just bought an iBuyPower computer and I've had no problems with it and I have a 3 year warranty. I'm not going to bother linking you pre- chosen computer builds, I'll just link you to the custom configurator on iBuyPower's website and you can choose every little detail of your PC (very useful if you have a limited budget).

http://ibuypower.com/IbpPages/CustConfig.aspx

I have nothing but good stuff to say about IBP and the PC I bought from them. NewEgg is going to be slightly cheaper when it comes to the bottom line as you're assembling the PC yourself and that means no assembly charge, but you'll find you're lacking the 3 year warranty that you get with iBP.

Good luck!

Aye you ain't going to get anything nice from both most of the big box companys for the 500ish area, Omega is spot on with Ibuypower, though I would probably say go towards building your own pc.

500 isn't really a budget. i just dont want to spen 1000 bucks on a computer that only has to last me like 2 years max. i did check out the 1buypower site and im not sure i can get the same moniter deal as with bestbuy.

Well if you only need it for 2 years maximum, a Dell MIGHT fill the niche well as 2 years is about all they last. I bought a Dell XPS M1330 from them and it was dead after a year and a half (warranty only lasted a year). Those F*CKERS ripped me off and I'll never purchase from them again. You COULD spend $700 on a desktop from iBP or tigerdirect or newegg or someplace similar and not have to upgrade for another 4 years (and I mean upgrading the hardware in the PC, not getting a new pc). With electronics, you usually get what you pay for, hombre. Dell's and Gateway's warranties SUCK ASS.

I've had no problem with dells, had a dell xps 410 and it ran solid and never let me down, after 4 years familys old inspirion laptop only needed a new harddrive and a new stick of ram and it ran as good as new. XPS m1530 ran great as well.

But for what you get for something under 1000bucks you'd bet go somewhere else.

Newegg. No mouse but i figured you had one,and the case is ugly and cheap but what the hell.I'm sure there's a n00b that hook you up with windows. This thing would be a great little rig and would take like 2 - 3 hrs for most anyone to build.I could have easily made this come in at under 500 but i only spent like 5 minutes on it and im lazy. Also you may be able to swap some of these parts for better ones, yet again i was lazy.
