My mate got it for Xbox360 yesterday, it looks good and solid but way to much like Left 4 Dead in aspects.

Hmm. L4D? I'm a bit skeptical. I was a fan of L4D for a while but I got bored of it. I'll probably try this out. I hope it's good.

The way the co-op is it's kinda like L4D and there is defiantly a L4D mechanics feel but it certainly is in it's own realm, it's awwwright I might buy it when I finishg oing through Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, which is quite realistic.

Feel free to add Neloter (Level 26 hunter)

Also, as for anyone curious to see if this game worth buying, a small runover from my friend.

It's a really fun game.

Currently playing a Siren (level 29) and exclusively play it with 3-4 people every session. Single player is just far too easy and the mobs ramp up much like D2 depending on how many people are in the game, which in turn gives higher quality drops.

It's a lot like Diablo 2 in the sense of how confusing it is to figure out what items are best for your character or what spec to go with each individual character. Confusing at first anyway... like D2 you learn to realize that the best items aren't necessarily just green/gold items (or in this case purples/oranges). There is tons of ways you can build your character depending on your play style. Class modifications, the weapons and the skill trees allow this.

The game is very slow to start but gets really good once you get into your first sub-zone (the Skag place), which also is around the time you get access to your class specific super skill. A lot of the basic concepts are ripped right from WoW. If you're familiar with how glancing blows work then that's exactly what you will experience in Borderlands if you try and fight enemies too high of a level (also marked with skulls!). Rarity is also the same scheme. You really don't have many items to worry about. Unlike trying to fill 17 or 19 slots in something like D2/WoW, you really only have to think about weapons, grenade mods, shields and class mods.

Different weapons have different effects. Some have elemental damage attached to them, some have crit bonuses, recoil reduction, +% damage and all that jazz. Instead of having a million different grenades you simply equip a modifier that changes all of your grenades to that type (you can freely switch them in and out if you like). For example you can have grenades that explode and then explode like 5 more. Or you can have a grenade that bounces around until it hits someone. Shields are basically like halo shields. When you get hit damage goes into your shield first before going into your health. When you stop taking damage for a period of time your shield recovers. Different shield mods have different strengths. Whether it be the value of the shield, the refresh time or other secondary effects (like an aoe explosion when your shield expires, or passive health over time).

Class mods are the most difficult thing to explain. They pretty much modify the way you play your character. They have massive amount effects on them which normally include +skill. For example I can get a class mod that gives me +40% SMG damage +2 Diva, +2 Girl Power, and +2 Phoenix skill. The +skills refer to the talent trees (like D2/WoW) in which that class mod will give additional points to those listed skills. The interface sorta fails though for +skill. If you have say girl power maxed at 5/5 and equip that class mod.. it won't show 7/5, but it will still work past 5/5. However, if you don't have at least one point in again Girl Power then you don't get the benefit of that +skill. Lastly some skills (not many) simply don't work past 5/5. I believe the hunter class has an ability that allows them to penetrate 100% of shields at 5/5 skill, so obviously going 6/5+ won't penetrate shields any farther. Common sense really.

Even with a few item slots you will still have to think about what you're doing. Which is nice.

There are a few gay things about the game though. First off most of the menus in the interface are very clumsy and you can really tell it was meant for a console. The map system is hit and miss. While it's very detailed, it like the interface is very annoying to use and the lack of a mini map will make you want to scream. Lastly if you do end up picking up the game make sure you ask someone who has been playing it for some 'fixes'. In their haste to bring it to the PC you have to live through some very annoying settings that have no option to toggle on/off without modifying some of the code (luckily it's easy).

Frankly it's just fun. Experimenting with different builds/items and watching enemies be burned/poisoned/electrocuted alive is just awesome (in some classes case all 3 happen at the same time). I'm not even though my first play through yet, but I can easily see myself playing it through the second play through (think D2 Nightmare/Hell) before getting bored, which would easily clock you +40 hours of game play. That's worth it to me.

I don't know what the end game is going to be like but they do have plans to add some DLC in the immediate future which may make you want to dust off that max leveled character for something more challenging. Even still, max level on one character and experimenting with another is still a lot of time spent.. and fun time at that!

Vehicles are fun.
Coop is fun.
FPS with RPG elements is very fun (it's like 300% more FPS then Fallout in case anybody is wondering).
