 Flooring help? So I bought this plastic Storage shed and it doesn't come with a floor. So i figure it would be easy enough to build one. it's 10x8 so i figure with the joist being 16 on center i would need 6 10 footers and 2 8 footers. Question is, should i use 2x4's or 2x6's? it gonna hold a push mower and snowblower and patio furniture. Nothing too heavy. Obviously it would all be pressure treated due to being outdoors. any thoughts or suggestions?

Re: Flooring help? If you're going with pressure treated and you're not putting too much weight on it, go with what's cheaper. Figure out how many board-feet of 2x4 you'd need vs 2x6, and just go with what's going to cost you less. You'll likely get the same result out of either of them.

Re: Flooring help? true just go with whats cheaper doesnt sound like its gonna hold lots of weight so either would do just as well as the other

Re: Flooring help? on the other hand.. its easier to build it heavy now than later.. id go with 2x6's and a 3/4" deck

Thanks guys, went with 2x4 for the whole thing except i used 4x4 for the outside 2 pieces, the shed was really 125" x 94.5" so it was a lil bigger than the 10 feet it said. 3/4' plywood for the deck as well. came out pretty good and only took about 3 hours to build the floor and put the shed up. Thanks again.

Re: Flooring help? i looked at MDF and it was too much money, so i went with plywood, my pops has the same shit and has had his shed for like 15 yrs and still standing strong. i figured it should work, but we shall see
