 Re: Council
We haven't even had anyone post birthdays in forever. That's the reason why I posted Fuzzy's yesterday. Just to post something. In my opinion I don't see how it is council's fault. If the community is in danger of dying it is hardly one group's fault. It is everyone's.
Right now I have: 9 people playing CS:GO in the 5v5 competitive matches. 4 (myself and 1 n00b member included) people playing CS:S in our main server. Numerous people playing LoL and the rest scattered across other game titles.
I dislike CS:GO, I've even grew to dislike CS:S. But playing with you people made those games enjoyable. I think we need to make a decision here keep a CS:S server and try to populate it, or make the switch 100%. It's not like we would lose population because people don't wanna play CS:GO. People aren't playing CS:S either.
I spammed everyone on my friends list that was "Online" two nights ago and we got the server to 20+ people for 3 maps before I had to leave. It takes more effort than it did before, but all it takes is effort. But i think having the community split between two major games (GO and Source) and multiple small ones is an issue. But most importantly people have to WANT to play together.
I do truly miss playing in the main and just seeing the community have any sort of pulse. So i think something needs to change, a shake-up of some sort.
EDITL I Guess my TL;DR is that I miss everyone and that we should make some changes that give this community the best chance to get back on track ♥

 Re: Council
Fomenta senpai plz. Na Css is just dying and people are moving on to different games. Some of those games being like league where you only play with a small group of people. Ya I could play with other people but, to be honest playing with bronze people makes me want to kill myself. So everyone keeps on playing with the same group of people and next thing you know everyone is doing their own thing. There is always the forums to fall back on but, the thing is the forums have had nothing really going on. I'll go and read some shit and be like w/e and just move on. Myself frankly I could care less about all these tin foil hat discussions that people really get into. I post about the rap music I like but no gives a shit about that, I could post about lolesports stuff but no one but a few people want to see that and that's what reddit is for anyways. The truth is without the main server and the drama it caused there isn't a lot to talk about. Like the forums used to be filled "this and that happened today in the main" and "he and she banned her and it was so funny." That and the lack of new faces is making this place die from the inside out. I know we have always been a "gaming community" but in reality we were pretty much a "css community". Unless we find a new game to replace css whether it be csgo, dayz, battlefield, or whatever I don't see this place getting any more livelier.
TLDR: we need to decide what game is going to replace css or i think this community will just die a slow and painful death. Also fomenta come back.

 Re: Council
Well F*CK, CS:GO hasn't been ported on Linux yet..
Since I'm rocking Ubuntu, I guess if we ever make a move to make CS:GO the new n00bfest's official game, I'll have to wait a bit :(
CS:S is ported though, so I'll stick with that from time to time

CS:S is ported though, so I'll stick with that from time to time I'm glad they are porting games to Linux, some old games got a much needed update to fix broken things that were learned over the years after it was abandoned.

 Re: Council
Well most of valve games are now on linux (css, tf2, half-life 2, etc.). I guess they're working on it right now, but they haven't said a word about it yet so idk.
It's still pretty limited though, opengl works like crap when you play in window mode, which I don't know why.

 Re: Council
I may not be on the council, but I have been around here for a while so I feel partly responsible for n00bfest's lack of activity. To be honest, I just don't have time to play games much anymore and my PC is too shitty for any of the new games anyways. However, I think everyone can be more active on the forums, myself included. It only takes a few minutes per day to come and see what's going on and post a response or two. We won't revive the community by pointing fingers and saying this person (or group of people) needs to step it up; it has to be a collective effort from everybody that's part of n00bfest. This community has taken care of us for years, now it's time we take care of it and not let it die.

 Re: Council
Looks like the biggest issue is a combination of old members getting old(myself included) aka not gaming as much, and no new blood joining the community.
If only there was a solution....hmmmmmmmmm

If only there was a solution....hmmmmmmmmm Tbh the oldest members here are the ones that are still fairly active. Gman, Strange, Spyda, Rage, myself (to a limited extent). These people are F*CKING founding members. Around for nearly a decade and we're still idling Teamspeak or hanging out in some form or fashion. PS, if I left your name out please don't hurt me.
