Post Visiting Volcanoes
Hopefully everyone had a good 4th of July. Since I had to wake up at 4:30Am for work the next day I couldn't stay awake for fireworks. Instead, me and my girlfriend went hiking at a volcano. Not sure how popular it is to the rest of the nation, but here it's pretty huge considering when it erupts, it's pretty brutal. We went hiking at the Mount Saint Helens National Monument. For those of you who may not know what it is, Mount Saint Helens is an active stratovolcano here in the pacific northwest most know for it's eruption in May of 1980.

Anyways, most of the trips I take, I end up with photos that I like to share here. So here's a few I came up with. Some are a little blurry. Also, in one of the photo's you might not realize what you're actually looking at, so I put comments above them just in case.

This is Spirit Lake. The 1980 eruption was so massive, it raised the lakes elevation by 200 feet.

Loowit Falls coming out of the crater.

This is the photo I was referring to when I said you may not realize what you're looking at. This is Spirit Lake covered by trees knocked over in the 1980 eruption.

I hope you enjoyed them. In a couple weeks we're going to go hiking around another mountain in that area. So i'll have more photos then for those of you that are interested.

I remember when that went boom! I was just a kid and it nearly killed me, I was running away and tripped over Dirtbags walker. It was those stupid tennis balls he has on the bottoms that got me!

That's a first. I look awkwardly different in this picture than I normally do.

Washington/Oregon are both beautiful. From what I hear Colorado is really good too. I mean, they have the Rockies. How can it not be? But I would choose WA/OR over any other state. Personal preference.

For mountain biking, I highly suggest you go in Moab

She is small. But I've always had freakishly large hands. You know what they say about people with big hands right...? They wear big gloves.. O_o
