Server Down for Maintenance Today
The server will be going down some time today for maintenance. The provider will be removing Windows Server 2003 from our dedicated machine and installing Linux.
Even with all the lag and problems we had with the old server, none of it appeared to be hardware related. Even when the server was full, CPU utilization never went above 6% and memory utilization stayed below 15%. This led us to believe that the biggest problem we were facing was the fact that we were running a very feature-rich OS (many of those features being entirely unnecessary). Even after trimming it down and running only what we had to, the problems persisted. Hopefully Linux is the White Knight solution to this problem.
Fomenta will be performing the game server installation and reconfiguration following a kernel recompile that will allow us to run at 100 tic. I'm not promising you a 32man 100tic server, but we may be able to pull it off with this new OS. We're going to start off @ 66 tic like we were before, but if the lag spikes go away, we'll likely bump it up.

Its not that you cant run a 32 man 100 tic, it will just lag tremendously.

Re: Server Down for Maintenance Today
At a very minimum, I want to run a secondary 16-man 100tic elite server w/ awps/autos/alltalk with a CPL/CAL/CEVO rotation.
