Factions!

5 factions total. When the game starts, or server resets, players make/join a faction, create castles/stronholds/cities.

ally or destroy!

I think it's be fun. :)

Ideas:

Desert Faction
Jungle Faction
Normal Faction
Swamp Faction
Snow Faction

You can only build in your biome, top ground biomes are territorial. Underground, doesn't matter, nothing is marked.

I know some bios are larger than others, but it's a huge world.

I like this idea would make it competitive and fun!

If everyone agrees and there is a rules set in stone and everyone signs to follow them this might be hella fun.

Well, that was just a suggestion, if ya'll want to create different factions, not limited to biomes. Thats cool too, if you have better ideas please, speak up!

I think your biome based teams would be better tbh.

Well. Maybe 4. The 'normal' biome can be for folks that will not participate in the faction battles. So, 4 factions:

Desert
Swamp
Jungle
Snow

Rules. Your territories will confine you to your biome. Underground is NEUTRAL. Gives people the option of tunneling to more biomes and claim more territory for your faction and the ability to mine for ore/minerals/etc. to be far.

Above ground is WAR. If you trespass into another territory YOU ARE FAIR GAME IF CAUGHT BY ANOTHER FACTION.

The new mods we'll be using, Industrial craft, and build craft, introduces a new item called a TERRAFORMER. It allows you to terraform! So, if you build one, you can expand your biome (if I'm reading it correctly.)

Anyway, ideas? Thoughts?

ZOMG, I might actually play minecraft if we do this. That sense of competitiveness was lacking in just survival mode but this may be interesting. I'm down

We should make grinders off limits for this.

Hooker, Grinders would be underground, which is neutral.

Yes, but then there's a reason to sit on the server for hours on end and potentially lag it out for everyone else.

I call shotgun on snow... I'm Canadian, eh.

So don't do it. I mean, Grinders are a good part of the game because lets face it. Trying to gain levels the normal way is just hard and a long treacherous road.

Newbie question here--> What is a 'grinder'?

Not a huge fan -- I think this would be fun for like 15 minutes then boring / annoying / leave the server empty.

We could do like a weekend thing. Save the world as is, do the battle thing and when its over just restore the normal world.

Will we ever get a new server without mods? Doesn't seem up right now..
