Dalton claims to be a Ph.D. and a professor of humanities at a prominent university, but the information he provides is very vague and therefore highly questionable. Roberto Muehlenkamp, an internet blogger who writes about Holocaust denial, questioned Dalton’s background and was told Dalton teaches economics at the University of Arizona. A Professor Thomas Dalton does teach economics at the University of Arizona, but Muehlenkamp’s blog reveals he is not the author of the book. Muehlenkamp contacted Professor Dalton and received a negative response—Professor Dalton did not write Debating the Holocaust.

This leaves the reader with no information about who “Thomas Dalton, Ph.D.” truly is. It is possible he lacks the proper credentials to be taken seriously by academics, but lying about his background makes one even less inclined to believe what he writes.
