NOT ME! win2K was built on NT tech and was a seperate OS, and it was better than XP because it used less resources and had all the same drivers, XP was windows 2000 for trendy fucktards with all the pretty effects and wasted garbage bogging down your ram

I think they were both consumer available. The difference being ME was designed to be more user friendly and what not. Tech wise 2000 was NT based while ME was DOS based.

The so-called 'secure boot' wiped my boot records for Windows 7. I installed it on my HDD, NOT my SSD (which had the Windows 7 install). When I tried to repair the install, it'd recognize that there 'was' an Windows 7 install and then it'd repair it but it'd still load into Windows 8, which by the way, is a piece of shit unless you have a tablet. You can't default to the desktop, you have to click on a tile to get to it. Then once there it's a pain in the ass to get back to the start screen with all the launch tiles on it. Unpossible that I would run this on a desktop. Bootmgr didn't do shit, btw. Because Bootmgr disappeared.

I had to format both hard drives AND install Windows 7 on both of them in order to be able to boot TO Windows 7, otherwise it'd tell me that a hard drive was missing (and the error screen was a relic of the Windows 8 secure boot mechanism).

I think I should update my OS... windows XP is getting old on games.

Although there is that issue with sound and the volume getting lowered in games when you use a mic, Windows 7 is miles ahead of Windows 98/XP.

Win2k did rule! I'm pretty sure Windows can't change too much. But quite honestly, Linux Distros are starting to get better and better. I'm half way in and half way out just because of compatibility and user friendliness. I've been having loads of fun with Linux though. I just can't seem to break away completely, just because I help people learn how to use the Windows OS still. I'm still pissed about having to look for Programs and Features in the Control Panel. My eyes still wander around on the top looking for Add or Remove Programs.

If I didn't have to use WineX emulation for Steam, I wouldn't use Windows at all.

Won't be buying it. Windows 7 is working flawlessly for me. No reason to upgrade.

I hope M$ realizes that other than the new-age dumbshits who buy iPad-like devices but don't know how to delete files from their desktop in Windows are their primary target audience with this OS and that most of us are gonna stick with 7 like we did with XP.
