The level of athleticism is no different. You are comparing apples to oranges. "Fast" or "Hard Hitting" LOL 10 blood thirsty 250 pound men sounds more like my gay fantasy than football.



If you would of read the post a little better you would of found that he is comparing the "show boating" between the two sports & between races. You've failed.

The level of athleticism in football is lower than you think. They're trained to do one, very specific action. And that's it. Athleticism is the general ability to do anything requiring physical motion. People from football couldn't play soccer. The endurance required is way higher than what any of their fast twitch muscles could handle. Football is too stop and go. Comparing Athleticism between it and anything other than baseball is foolish. Most sports require consistent motion. In that aspect, and some of the more tactical aspects, hockey and soccer are similar.

Tl;dr football requires less Athleticism than other professional sports. Don't assume there's a correlation between how much they're paid and their physical abilities.

They are paid so high because A) They are the backbone for a multi-billion dollar industry B) The average life-span of the player is 3 years

I agree with everyone on here and i have to disagree with everyone.Although hockey players have to endure some big hits its nothing like pro football.To prove this all you would have to do is check the average career span.Most NFL players are done in there early 30's.Taking a hit on the boards can be brutal as hell but its nothing like coming over the middle and someone like Ronnie Lott taking you out.And this "AFRICAN AMERICAN" had his finger amputated during a game just so he could stay in the game.And while soccer players may have better cardio,its not really a sport.Soccer is a activity,i liking it to cross country running and bicycling.I mean shit if these guys are such well conditioned athletes why the F*CK aren't they in the NFL showing all those out of shape"AFRICAN AMERICANS" how its done and getting paid millions to boot.

I was watching GB vs NO and was thinking the very same... just do your job and go back to do it again. you dont see Jason Witten running around like he just got a 10 lb crack rock..I have played American Football and Hockey alot growing up and I must say that I have been hit harder in hockey than football. I have also got hurt more in hockey than in football. for those that want to say one is harder than the other play both first

I mean i love football and all, but you do know that professional soccer players get paid more money than NFL football players right? They get paid a F*CK ton more money because it's an even bigger Billion dollar industry globally than the NFL is.
On a side note, i've actually lost interest in professional football since playing college ball.
