I want this to be so good that it makes me play cs again. But the models were kinda floaty and it just basically looked like a cleaned up source. But ill hold my breath and check out the final product. For me 1.4 was the pinnacle that they will never achieve again. But thats me,still hope this ones great.
1.4 is kind of a weird build to say it was the pinnacle considering it was only out for like a month.
And does anyone remember playing the Source beta when it first came out? The player models looked like they were a cross between about halfway through the evolutionary chart and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, so I'm sure they'll get changed. I was happy to see a lack of garbage on the ground. Doesn't matter how much any of you hate on it, this game is going to be the future of this community eventually and the continuation of CS in general. Voice your concerns to Valve about what you dislike because this is the game you are going to have to play and hope succeeds or CS won't see another game in another 10 years, lol. Personally the player models and a few gun models don't look like CS, but I'm sure those will be changed. I hope they have an option for an old crosshair too, not a fan of the square thing.
Not sure how balanced this molotov is going to be for a bigger pub. The slightest teamwork between a couple of people can block off an area like B tunnels for at least a minute. You won't see too much of that in a 5v5 format which is probably what it is balanced for. Can't wait to see how good these distraction gunfire grenades are going to be.

So basically we are all going to pray and hope but in the end we will all end up buying and then soon bitching about....
Call of Duty: Counter Strike

Apparently Valve is working on cross platform, PS3/PC for sure since they did it for Portal 2.

I'll buy it and try it, but I'm going to keep CSS close just in case... Not sold on it. I'll take another look when it comes out. Hopefully they change some things. If they can fix the damn registry issues and the interp issues then I'll be sold.

Cross platform is still kind of a stinky idea I think. I remember when they tried it before with Quake 3, and the console people didn't stand a chance against the PC people. The mouse/keyboard just gives you a much faster response time. The difference was huge when playing Halo on PC for the first time as well. Modern games might be different tho.

PS3 will support Move and Mouse/Keyboard.

1) Better visuals/graphics. We all know the CS gameplay has been what kept this going, but the graphics are outdated as F*CK, and the game needed a facelift to keep people attracted to it against all the other visually stunning new games.
2) New Maps. THANK GOD. I know Dust 1 & 2 and other maps are "classics", but holy shit am I bored of playing the same maps for 10 years. Yes there are many custom maps to download and play, but we still need more diversity.
3) Matchmaking system. I think this will be the real game changer for online gaming (still haven't seen how it works though). Since CS started competitive gaming movement, I think a good competitive matchmaking system needed to come from the makers of CS. This will be yet ANOTHER feature that is stolen by every other FPS multiplayer game. Unless, of course, the matchmaking system sucks, but I have faith they will do it well.
I am also excited about the molotovs. They have potential to get annoying with a team spamming them, but I think they will add a little more strategy to the game.
The thing I see that I don't like already is the fact that you can see gunfire/bullet trajectory. This drives me nuts in COD games, because you know basically where bullets are coming from and where to go for a kill, which is unrealistic and gay. We're not shooting frickin lasers here, they are bullets.
so far i'd have to say it looks upsetting. grenades look clunky and the guns look to short on first person view. i'm also really terrified that the reticule its so large, its suggesting that you can't tap to shoot and get head shots so easily. it looks like its going to be like the current FPS where its a lot of run and gun and spray and pray. it seems to easy and not skillful at all. however i did hear the developers brought most of the pros from 1.6 and CSS to test it out and wanted to know what should be changed about gameplay/mechanics such as the spraying issue. if its true hopefully they fix it. this is only a test for the game so theres still months for development. lets just wait to see what they bring out for a BETA build
The main focus of this game seems to be making the game mechanics better, as stated in multiple videos as well, this is not counter-strike 2. But merely seems like another CZ.
