 Re: Seal team 6
Surely our government knows better then to send another helicopter of dozens of SEAL members to an area where 30 men had just been killed a couple days before. Apparently not.

They went in to help the Rangers fight they were pinned down. All of them knew what they were flying into. It's a tragic loss for America.

 Re: Seal team 6
If you guys want to blow your hair back with some ST6 pseudo-fiction read the Rogue Squadron series by Richard Marcinko. I dont give a damn if half of it is made up. First book is about the formation of seal team 6. http://www.amazon.com/Rogue-Warrior-Ric ... 481&sr=8-1

Whether or not a specific individuals Were or were not on this certain mission isn't relevant. What is relevant is ST6 Was attacked and whats ironic is the last time ST6 Took personal loses is in a over packed Helo in Somalia..... Huh another Helo incident. I refuse to believe That just so happens that ST6 only dies in precise Helo attacks. I feel as they might have been War Heroes that served America with extreme prejudice who were offered up for the death and improper burial of Osama Bin-laden. I stand By what i said there is something foul afoot..... Edited by Sweet Pea: Fixed your quotes.

Edited by Sweet Pea: Fixed your quotes. huh......Last time I checked it was Delta force that died in helo crashes in somalia and it was 1 guy. 2 died defending a crash site (super 6-4) and 2 others died in other areas of the battle. There was a grand total of 5 seal team 6 members that took place in the battle and theres nowhere stating they were all in a helo and blew up. RIP to these fine gentlemen. People need to hop off the conspiracy train and take it for what it is. WAR. this is war ladies and people die. Please be happy this isnt F*CKING ww2,vietnam,korea where losing 30 guys HAPPENED ALOT. Im just thankful its not like that at all. Shit happens in a warzone and theres nothing to control it. It was a 150 yard shot with a flying coffee can. SHIT HAPPENS.

 Re: Seal team 6
How about we keep giving our condolences instead of debating who is dead and who isn't.

 Re: Seal team 6
well nothing's a slap in their faces cause they dead.
THEY DEAD
it's a slap in their comrades' faces and those of us who respect them and want to believe they died doing something good for the greater good.
anyway it's war, war is war, people shoot things at other people, people assplode. It sucks ass for the wounded and the living, but we can't speak for the ded and it's wrong to do so. For all we know they're F*CKIN virgins in heaven right now. Not as many at a time as the jihadists but I like to think that we done do get our virgins too.

 Re: Seal team 6
With a SAD SAD HEART.. A Special Thanks Goes out to ALL the Fallen Soldiers and there Families for there Hard work and sacrifices All in the Name of the United States of America. Thank Ya'll!!!!!!!! and sorry it ended like it did for U...... But Ya'll each have done Ur county a great service and u'll always be a hero for that!!!!
Will that being said. Non of my statements were intended to be misconstrued in disrespect for any fallen soldier..... I in fact I am a former Sailor.
All i was saying in my previous statements is his and ill spell it out for Some people This is the second confirmed enemy attack on an allied helicopter this year. Back in late July, another Chinoook was downed in the Kunar Province, leaving two people injured.
Maybe it is just dumb luck that Taliban insurgents happen to have targeted helicopters loaded to near-full capacity with Special Operations personnel. It seems a bit coincidental that this is the case, especially given the equipment available to U.S. Special Operations teams like the SEAL Team 6.
This raises another question: why were they transporting themselves in a Chinook? Sure, the dual-rotor helicopter has a large carrying capacity, but why would they risk moving an extremely slow, loud transport through the dangerous mountainous areas near Kabul at night in order to engage insurgents?
I find it strange that they would choose to risk all of those valuable Special Operations soldiers’ lives in order to save some gas.
Why would they not utilize the stealth helicopter technology we know for a fact SEAL Team 6 has access to?
Why not use the stealth technology utilized in the original raid on the bin Laden “compound” in Abbottabad, Pakistan?
I fail to see why they would not utilize equipment they are in possession of, especially when it is designed for stealth night raids like the one being conducted that resulted in so many American deaths.
Why would they not make use of the noise reduction and infrared signature reduction technology leveraged in the stealth helicopter design seen in the wreckage after the bin Laden raid?
Maybe I am naïve but I would hope that our military is competent enough to know that taking a slow moving heavy transport through one of the most dangerous regions of Afghanistan at night in order to battle insurgents is not a good idea.
Furthermore, I would hope they realize that loading over 20 Special Operations troops into a single helicopter is not a good idea, evidenced by the massive blow dealt in the 2005 attack that resulted in fewer casualties than the most recent crash.
If these Questions are a Slap in Anyone ones Faces...Id hope ud understand its not the Soldier's or Commando's i question its there leadership AKA the Pentagon. And I find it quite off-putting, that Our elected officials and there appointed help/advisers continually fail to take care of whats important To our Nations security and well being.

 Re: Seal team 6
Well this is some sad news indeed. I just found out one of the seals was from Connecticut and was the cousin of a girl that my mother went to college with. This woman was one of many who helped my mother babysit me when she was finishing her last year of college.
Rest in Peace Special Warfare Operator Chief Petty Officer Brian R. Bill, 31, of Stamford, Conn.
