well i lived in WV best part was the sunsets and sunrises over the mountains other than the empty field its a great view!

I used to have to drive all through West Virginia to the Gino's Pizza and Spaghetti's/Tudor's Biscuit Worlds, and the drive from Gauley Bridge to Fayetteville has to be the most beautiful mountain road I've ever been on.

Also, sometimes cityscapes can be nice to look at too. Would drive this way usually 2-3 times a week. Bland hills, long boring tunnel, opening to a great view of the city. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0ScB9EpnBA&feature=related

i lived about 45 minutes from fayetteville and i know th long drive you speak of very beautiful during the fall

I love mountains. I like the view across the field.

Dirk has probably seen this view quite a few times. But you can't get enough of Mt. Hood. It looks good from every angle.

Also got a few pictures I took while we were in the mountains in Hong Kong. A hell of a lot different than what i'm used to here in the NW.

if only I lived near places like that. The mountains and the areas very close to mountains I'd have to say are my dream locales. I could happily retire to a mountain cabin somewhere in Montana or Colorado or West Virginia.

EDIT: I thought I'd say also that there are usually two kinds of people: beach people and mountain people. Obviously I'm the latter.

Of course there are also the places were you could be right in the middle of it all. Mountains, beaches, country side, city, suburbs. A short drive from each of them. Then you don't have to settle for just one. You've got it all.

I love cityscapes! They are always nice to look at, as long as it's a good city.

My favorite
