New Diablo 3 Details
Just thought I'd create a new thread for some brand new Diablo 3 information released today, some of which are very interesting! I know Hooker will be veryyyyyy excited!!! See Below! http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/08/01/diablo-3-cannot-be-played-offline/So in order to combat pirates like myself, Blizzard will, and has been with SC2 and WoW, make D3 playable only with an internet connection running at ALL TIMES. This is also to stem cheating that was prevalent in D2. http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/08/01/diablo-3-mods-expressly-prohibited-by-blizzard/“For a variety of gameplay and security reasons, we will not be supporting bots or mods in Diablo III, and they’ll be expressly prohibited by our terms of use for the game.” Pretty self explanatory here, they don't want bot farmers to ruin the game which I support. FINALLY this little bit will have Hooker wetting his pants!!! http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/08/01/diablo-3-will-let-players-buy-and-sell-items-for-real-money/Yes ladies and gentlemen it is official, for the first time in a huge game release such as this you can buy and sell your in-game items for REAL money...will be interesting to see what items quickly get farmed and how the market will continually fluctuate. ANyone have plans of buying any items? Whats your limit?

Re: New Diablo 3 Details
Here is a Beta "Hands-On" that PC Gamer did with 5 hours in the game...apparently spending skill points isn't permanent any more, so no more worrying of permanently screwing your character for misplacing a point...oh yea...Beta is out soon :) http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/08/01/diablo-3-beta-hands-on/

Re: New Diablo 3 Details
I think I will stick with Torchlight 2, cheaper and most likely better game overall. Even Runic doesn't gives a flying F*CK if you pirate their game because people who pirate the game will buy the game if they like/love it during Steam sale.
(Not that I'm planning to pirate it or anything like that, it probably will be first day buy tho.)

Re: New Diablo 3 Details
Another game I plan to play to death. I probably wont buy items, because it cheapens the thrill of getting it myself. But it would be nice to sell some. Hopefully they make the offline mode a little more accessable than SC2 was.

Re: New Diablo 3 Details
Knew about these updates for a while now, I love having inside connections! Torchlight is from Matt Uelman (sound and music from Diablo II) and the old Diablo II team from Blizzard North. I can guarantee you that Diablo III will be much better and sound.
Also,
I F*CKING TOLD YOU D2JSP WAS FUCKED.

Re: New Diablo 3 Details
So the Diablo 2 team isn't producing Diablo 3? Or they are doing Torchlight 2? Or both?

If you thought I was going to use all the stuff I amassed for d3, you weren't paying attention to my argument. I'm not even going to play d3. It's going to be child play compared to guild wars 2. Jsp will never be fucked, no matter how hard you want it to be. That economy is more stable than the US economy. And just because real money will be able to be traded doesn't mean its fucked. At all. In fact, its probably going to boost jsps usage. It's going to net me a ton of money, because instead of wasting rl money on items, I can just liquify some of my 39k worth of fg in Guildwars and then sell it. Whenever. I. Need. Money.

Re: New Diablo 3 Details
This has nothing to do with GW2. Also that game blows dick. Made by NCSoft, who still use support ticket system on their MMO with a week response time. They flubbed GW. Now they're going to flub GW2. D2jsp is worthless to D3 which is what I said over a year ago, but you and Gman said noooooo.

Re: New Diablo 3 Details
Let me repeat myself, just for good measure, if I ever need money in any game (including d3) I can liquify assets and get money on jsp to transfer to that game. You can believe whatever you want, but you'll waste cash to have to catch up with the lead gman has on you in fg.
All having a cash vs cash trading system means is that I now have an easier way to move fg to cash, and I don't have to do under the table selling on jsp. There will be so many d3 players with money on jsp that they will continue to use the jsp money they already have, because its already well established.
Just because you didn't buy into it, or didn't get any type of fg doesn't mean that every other d2 player who exists, actually the majority of who's left, won't continue to use jsp. You're in the minority of players by shunning it.

Re: New Diablo 3 Details
I've had more fg than you could ever imagine. I had 12 accounts of stuff I sold for a ton. D2jsp is dead. Nobody is going to use it for diablo 3, there's no use. Also, conversion rates for fg are so small. Good luck finding someone to buy diablo 2 items when everyone migrates to d3.
So... Let me repeat myself for good measure just in case you didn't understand... NOBODY ON DIABLO 3 is going to use d2jsp. There's no need. Good luck selling 1k fg for 10 dollars or transferring it all to wow or gw2 gold. I'll bet money d2jsp turns into a huge diablo failure.

Re: New Diablo 3 Details
I get a 1 to 1k conversion rate on Guildwars, actually. And looking at how about 7m gwg sells for ~$200, I think I'm making out alright.
We'll see who wins this argument when those two games come out, but I'm currently $300 richer from undercutting jsps prices on fg, so it seems like we've had different experiences. Or maybe we were in different economic times. Your time was in 2005 iirc, mine was last year.
Edit: and this year I guess, because I'm on there for Guildwars.
