 Frostwire needs your help.
Apparently, Frostwire has moved it's newest version (version 5) to torrents only. As a direct supporter of Frostwire, buying the T-shirts, stickers, etc... I'm pretty pissed of the fact they did this. It was really the only place I ever went to download all my music. I don't like downloading huge torrents with tons of files, etc. I like having my files formatted a certain way like "Dooby Dick - Dick Cheese and the Mouse". You won't find torrents like this because they're directly ripped from the disc. They end up being like "09 - Dick Cheese and the Mouse". The differences are not only in the file name, but the tag as well. This is NOT the Frostwire I've supported for years. PLEASE, PLEASE... take the time to go here http://forum.frostwire.com/viewtopic.ph ... 642#p39642 and let these guys know the direction they're taking is going to F*CK them. Why would they make Frostwire a torrent-only application when there are other free alternatives like uTorrent that are completely awesome and more than perfect for this type of thing. My argument is that there is nothing that Frostwire can bring to the table that uTorrent hasn't done already. When people upgrade, they're going to remove Frostwire from their systems and just use other torrent clients with more robust features. I mean... why wouldn't they. I cannot blame them one bit. Let's bring Frostwire's direction back to what it was before they made this mistake.

 Re: Frostwire needs your help.
As shown in the youtube video, cant you just adjust the filters and find the individual song?

No, you can find a torrent related to that category, that's it. You can de-select each song other than the one you want to download, but there are no filters to search for music only, video only, etc.
It's the equivalent to going to piratebay.org, typing in Nine Inch Nails, and selecting the "music" filter and finding a torrent with Nine Inch Nails.
The old Frostwire worked like this: You open Frostwire. You click music. Type in a song name and artist. Download. It's that simple... you don't have to run through nine hundred torrent files finding the one with the right bitrate, etc. It doesn't download all the folders and extra files like the included tracker text files/nfo files. It's as easy as Morpheus, KaZaa, Limewire, and Bearshear ever used to be. They all worked on the GTK system. This has changed and this is what we want back. All Frostwire has turned into is a torrent searching application, nothing more.

Mkay got it, it was basically like gnutella. And now they are just making it like utorrent or Vuze which are a shit ton better at there own thing. Thats basically just throwing there own program out the window.

GTK is Gnutella. Exactly. They're basically digging their own grave.

 Re: Frostwire needs your help.
As soon as I upgraded to the new Frostwire, I saw that it was torrents only, then I uninstalled it. I'm sure there have been plenty of people doing this same exact thing. I liked Frostwire for it's simplicity. I want it back. So I posted a little something on there. But I found a site to download music from temporarily while I try to find a new program to use. It's pretty easy, and so far i've found everything I wanted. You can listen to the song before downloading, and then right click>save as and it's yours. Of course this is just for music. But it works good for that. http://en.dilandau.eu/download_music/

 Re: Frostwire needs your help.
Nice post. I think we've convinced them to re-add the "search by file-type" again, but then how much spam will we see in the process?
