So AMD is planning to release the AMD 10 Core "Piledriver" chips next year which will require a whole new socket in (FM2) which means buying a new mobo...thoughts? Anyone gonna take the plunge? Still waiting to see when Intel comes out with their 12 Core CPU :) _________________  |

To be honest, for gaming, it's about as useless as tits on a bull. Most games, even when given multi-threading capabilities, only use one core to the max. The workload isn't distributed evenly over all threads. |

I get to work with super computers at school, but that doesn't in any way mean a 10 core cpu setup is going to be any use for me at home. |

It's such a shame :( I should say though, if you're into 3d modeling & animation, you can have a nice one pc monster renderer with a 10 core machine. The top 3d modeling packages always support as many cores as you can use. The time reduction in rendering is unbelievable. |
