im saying every damn game should have continuous OT. Important games like Semis and Finals for world cups. I dont think ive ever seen a semis or finals end in a 0-0 tie or atleast none that i can remember atm. ATLEAST BRING BACK GOLDEN GOAL. F*CK SILVER GOAL RULE.

football is different. Ohh i won the toss......i win. Soccer is completely different in every single way. I just hate watching games get decided by PKs because of one of the teams playing a defensive game just to win by pks. i think its cheap. Maybe extend the OT halves to 20 a piece instead of 15. 10 minutes is a long damn time in soccer. very long.

Oh I kno its vey long but at same time its very short to. I agree on perhaps 20min ots but golden goa ruel ot so much cause u could be dominating the other team and they just get a lucky bounce because shitvlike that happens and its total bullshit also. But perhaps they could do continous ots and golden goal after the first 2 halfs. At 20mins each 15subsquently after the first 2. (Longer the game worse it gets for the players)

see thats why I like golden goal. THATS SOCCER. THATS HOW IT IS. you could spend 20 mins on attack and make 1 mistake,1, and thats it they have a fast break and your defense cant catch up. Thats how it should be. Fifa changed it though because some teams werent offensive at all and played the D card (italy....since forever. 1 man up 9 men on defense). I love golden goal but thats the shitty sad truth about it. I just feel pks are a cop out and takes away from the game too much.


Chelsea vs Manchester united a couple of years back. It was the champions league final held in moscow and the weather at the time in russia was so horrendous it ruined the pitch constantly. In the matter of 1-2 weeks they changed the grass on the pitch 3 times. They even had grass from sweden shipped 2 days before match day. The game was excellant with both teams really going at it. The game went to Pks and my heart was F*CKING broken. This is what happened.


You can see that the weather was awful. He stepped up and his planting foot slipped on the pitch forcing his shot wide. I know how it is. ive had it happen to me before. its devastating. its nothing you can control. you did nothing wrong. The pitch just simply gave way under his foot throwing his weight wide. That shot had it gone in wouldve won chelsea the champions league after missing it so many times. 1 shot. 1.


so tell me. Whats better? Losing the game because your defense got caught in a counter attack.....or losing the biggest game of your career over something as small as that?

Yah i remember that game there Reilly that did really suck but really i guess you could look at it the same way you do the golden goal tho. One mistake from the pitch (which could of happen in actual game play) screwed him over. And i really didnt know they did all that to the pitch before the game happen. Ive had a similar experience like he did but it was a chance that each team had to deal with. I still think the Pk's should be for an ending result and i do agree with you though about the golden goal and shit can happen in soccer so fast by just a nice clear or even a sprint which ive seen in both world cups (mens/womens). And even just Wednesdays game the pitch was bad with the misty crap that was going on all game and some randy shit happen in that game with uncontrollable ball control by both sides early on. I still dont think that continuous OT with golden goal would work to well specially in high ranking tournaments like the World Cup.

I do though think that draws in soccer are kinda dumb and that there should be OT and that could have the golden goal rule but in major tournaments. I dont think it would be best because of how many games are being played and if its continuous then some games could go for 2 1/2-3hrs and that would wear out the players and then also the tournaments would have to last longer and the seasons of like the English Premier and the Major League Soccer and many others.

forget about the whole continuous OT thing. I still think changing the Golden goal was a horrible idea. Ive played in alot of tournaments across the country against high profile teams (european youth programs) and we always did golden goal. All my coaches were from europe or played alot in europe and said the same thing. It was a shitty change. When 1 goal is on the line the game becomes so fast paced and frantic that its mind bending sometimes.

Yeah i can see how it is mind bending and such and i think the women all play like that i think...their games are usually alot more face pace and im like damn slow it down some control the ball lol. The men just kinda pass it around each other and then finally get it forward.
