bypassed chaste, aghast
cast in front a blast
from which there's no recovery

no discovery of a scene
to differently convene,
to intervene in the dream
and tell myself to stop-

-callously dismiss
or miss that first kiss
now I'm listless.
Thinking like a pessimist.

pertaining to refraining
from the straining and restraint
rain freezing my brain
ingraining an image-

-I'd be trying to forget
Yet, beget this regret;
Montague to Capulet,
I've become a silhouette.

now I ask you,
critique my poem-speak
is it unique or antique,
do I tweak my technique?

So this silhouette cannot forget
the Capulet he won't regret
though his kiss still tastes
like her last cigarette.



Admittedly the last stanza was similar to the third-from-last in every way shape and form.

I got bored and decided to start rhyming. I intended it only to be a couple lines long, and I didn't plan on wasting others' time with reading it. But, there it is. Feel free to bash it, it's the only way I'll get better. Keep in mind there is no attempt at real rhythm, grammar or really any proper writing skill.


EDIT: Sorry for the first stanza... I like words like that.

I enjoyed half of it, then my mind started to wander so I put it in the fridge and decided to enjoy the rest later.

The first stanza was definitely just to use those words after I thought of them.

It wasn't meant to be poetry or anything, I was just rhyming.
