Anyone watch the Barrack Obama speech on CNN?
Just aired Live. Riveting speech. I'd place my money on him.
Anyone else watch it? Any thoughts and opinions?

He's going to get hanged within a month of him taking office. That's my guess.

He's good at talking fancy, but he wants universal healthcare. F universal healthcare. Why would I want to spend $4,000 a year in taxes when I can get my own healthcare for half as much? Stupid poor people...
It's more than just poor people.
I'm 100% for universal healthcare. Privatized healthcare has almost killed my little brother twice.
My brother was born with holes in his heart. He had open heart surgery when he was 10 months old. He was covered on my stepfather's insurance until he was 19. No insurance company will cover him now. He's too much of a risk. Before he can have any medical procedure he has to take special medicine for a week that is very expensive and totally out of pocket. He can't even go to the dentist without this medicine. He had a blood infection a year ago while he was living out of state doing construction and every doctor REFUSED to treat him because of his heart. He had to quit his job and move back home just to get treated by the local doctors that know my family, but even then, it was cash up front.
You guys can be all for it while you're healthy, but even with insurance the way it's set up now, you're 1 major illness away from losing everything. It's hard to see the big picture when you live inside a bubble.
And $4000? Please stop with the propaganda. If anything, without the insurance companies and pharmacuetical's running the show, the price of insurance per household will go down.

Cool.
That still doesn't make it my responsibility to pay for the health insurance of anyone but myself. Hell, I don't even pay for health insurance for myself. A gun is cheaper than insurance and will kill me a lot quicker than a doctor can.
The problem isn't the fact that people are unable to afford health care. The problem is that doctors have forgotten about the oath they took.
I'd rather not have a razor bandage applied to a wound that needs a tourniquet and a new limb.

It's not just one thing that's the problem. It's a culmination of many things. The welfare of your entire being will be at the mercy of some corporate yoohoo, while no doctor is willing to work for free. There are many things that will only feed the fire, but only one thing can extinguish it.

Which involves me drinking large amounts of Monster, Mountain Dew, Water, and semen and then pissing on the fire and everyone in, around, or on the same continent as it.

I dont know why do you have problems with Universal Healthcare?.
Since all the people will start getting cheaper and better treatment, the idea of not paying 4,000 grand a year by yourself, its kind of egotistical, since the whole plan its not supported by ONE man, other people are going to start tossing up a buck.
Yeah you earned that money, yeah you have a job, but all this is contributed and retributed to a SOCIETY so your not alone. Probably the fact that another kid is very sick, its not of your concern, its fair, freedom os speech, but come to think about it, that kid dosnt have to take on your idea of not having universal healthcare, just because you dont care, that argument its just plain silly. The only enemy of this kid, its not you, because you dont care, its the big PMO companys, that probably bought you that idea (i dont know if so), and you preffer to hand yourself to a PMO fine, led that be your desition, and i hope you or better worse two member of your family at the same time dont get illnesses that probably consume all your money, because a heavy illness can bring an upper lower class to bankrupsy, and then you are handing yourself to these F*CKING jerkoff´s (PMO´s) thinking that you are 100% sure that everything will be ok. Saying that if healthcare goes universal is going to make doctors treat you like an animal, is just not right, the chance of you getting treated bad by a doctor are what they are CHANCE, you think random issues are a matter of if its private or not?, its like saying, HELL NO, i wont walk on a sidewalk because i may get runned by a car. I say that theres people that are willing to take this risk (if so called), because they need it and they deserve it, probably you will think, im healing thief´s, thugs, AFRICAN AMERICANS, well let the penitencial matter get a hold of that case, dont be the judge of poor kids or people that are on the lower pole and are working for you, and as well contribute to the society, perhaps not by the way you are doing it, but think about it, it was chance that you got yourself in a good family, and if not, if you worked from the bottom, then you would understand perfectly that this issue its a matter of EVERYONE.
You will start receiving this treatment as well, youre not only paying for others, your paying for yourself too, probably the poor as you call them, will take more advantage of that, but when your(s) time to use this service comes (we hope not) you will see the difference between your expenses of an universal healthcare vs. a PMO plan, and believe me i think youll be satisfied.
Let uss listen a story gone right using PMO with a medium class or an upper lower class, ill give that a null chance, and youll have your proof, since almost 100% of the people is using PMO´s and still they are getting treated like garbage and they are paying solely for theyr attention.
Yet again, its your money, i wont tell you how to spend it, but in my opinion healthcare should be universal, period.
Regards.

DE-f**king-NIED
Tri-Care doesn't cover LAP-BAND surgeries. Hoorah.
So, anyway, my father has decided to pay for it out of pocket. Something to the tune of $30,000 dollars. $30,000 he doesn't have. My dad is never going to be able to retire now. He's 63, has barely made a dime in years, is supporting his family off of his retirement fund, and is now going to get a loan for atleast $30,000. He's taking it so far up the ass for me that I can't even begin to comprehend how much he cares about my well-being because he's that great of a father.
I could sit here and bitch and complain about myself doing this to him, but I'm not that emo and faggoty. Yes, it's my fault this is happening, but there's nothing anyone can do to change the past, so all I can do now is respect the fact that my father isn't a dead-beat, walk-out asshole.
If you're into the praying thing, keep my father in your prayers. My family in your prayers. And I could use some prayer too.
Thanks, guys. You're my second family.

For a minute I thought the Olypics were still going with all the stage effects and fireworks... Only democraps could put on a hollywood style show that could compete with Beijings.

You guys are right. The government has done such an incredible job running things like public school systems, medicare, and the welfare system - I cannot wait to let them decide when, where, and how much healthcare attention I deserve.
Just another case of people working and making money and having to pay for a bunch of F*CKING deadbeats. Yes, there are exceptions and hundreds of sob stories out there that make for a compelling argument. You know what percentage of the real claims will be those cases?
GTFO with your socialism. Regulation of the existing free market system is in order, not government controlled healthcare (or government guaranteed 100% coverage).
If you can make people start paying their fair share and lower premiums, great. When the concept is pitched it sounds good, but wait until you see what happens 10 years after we make "the poor" feel entitled to free healthcare.
For a legitimate healthcare crisis, emergency rooms have to treat you no matter what. It's the law. They cannot refuse treatment just because you cannot afford to pay them.
Maybe the government will come in and start paying my bills for me next, or turning my lights on and off at certain times of the day. Thank God for the government! Let's just turn our whole lives and welfare over to them. They're smart, right?

Yes, I'd rather have privatized companies deny people that are willing to work just because they're too tall, or because they're above the weight limit that they deemed you have to be (regardless of the percentage of body fat)...

Some companies approve/deny healthcare based on your BMI, regardless of your lifestyle. If your BMI is above/below their standards, your deemed overweight (or underweight for a low one) and denied coverage.
