Im just finishing up a book called The Pleiadian Mission. Its about a man who claims to have been contacted by "aliens" from another galaxy and they teach him about the history of man and how the universe works. It explains just about everything including why we are here, how we came to be, how the universe was created, the true story of jesus, time travel....EVERYTHING. Now Im not saying I believe the book, but its definetly a really interesting read, and it actually makes a lot of sense, more than the bible ever did to me. Even if its all made up, its really a fantastic story.

There's at least 5 references in Revelations to the "lake of fire":

19:20
20:10
20:14
20:15
21:8

I found several more references to a fiery hell, but interestingly enough, they're all from the New Testament. The books of the Old Testament have TONS of references to hell and NONE of them mention burning or flames.

Here's some of the other New Testament references. I can't tell if any of these are supposed to be quotes from Jesus himself or just the messages of the disciples. Could be interesting to uncover that riddle, too.

Matthew 5:22
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Matthew 18:9
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

Mark 9:43
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

Mark 9:45
And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

Mark 9:47
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

James 3:6
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

I wonder how many of those are incorrectly translated. Gnostic Gospels and other apocrypha that were recently translated describe hell as the idea of dying and being forgotten. Those same gospels describe heaven as immortality. It seems a bit strange that the themes of heaven and hell would differ oh-so-greatly there.

Im not sure whats its considered. At amazon its under both science/astrology and under religion/spritualism.

Check out some of the reviews

Video of the author which led my initial interest in the book

And Gman, it is far from scientology although I will admit theres some similarities in some of the beliefs. But like you stated earlier the book actually agrees with your opinion on the bible and how to go about religion.

If nothing else, the inconsistencies are enough to convice me that we have no properly documented definition of either "place".

Question: What would you do if you found out your right testicle was god? Just answer the question.

I've been there. They always have major lag, shitty computers, charge you 6.50 and hour to play on them, and never have the games you want to play.

One is an all knowing, all powerful entity which holds sway over the universe, the other one makes babies. Hmmmm.
