 The Legend
edit: I read the rules AFTER I posted.
Name: Eric
Age: 23
Alias: OfficerDoofy
Yep, you old timers may remember who I am. I ran Southern Alabama CS 1.5/1.6 back in the 2002. It began as an experiment on a boring night. I downloaded the CS 1.5 server file and started it up with default settings. I ran it on the same computer I was playing on. Within about 5 minutes, some retard, Apathy, logged on. After talking to him for a bit, 2 more people joined. Come to find out, they were 2 of his friends. I soon left the server for bed. When I came home after work the next day, to my surprise, the server was abso-freakin-lutely full! I couldn't believe it! Within the next couple weeks, I had ordered me some new computer parts and built the server. Athlon 1.2GHz, 512mb RAM, Win2k Advanced Server, 1.1mb SDSL connection. Not long after I realized this server was going to be big, I set up a Psychostats page. Man, I wish I had saved these files. The player activity was incredible! During this time, this server was the home of [WhtTrsh]. Most of these guys were in the area.. Corpse was actually WhtTrsh at one time! The server had a GREAT core group of players and tons of regulars.
Running a CS server is the most thankless thing I have ever done. Admin abuse, daily e-mails regarding the foresaid, trash talking, etc. I don't remember exactly how long I had it up, but it consumed the better part of 8 to 10 months or so I'd guess. One night, while dating a high school fling, I sent the server an admin_csay giving them warning that the server was coming down. I shucked the motherboard, cpu, and RAM and gave it to the flings father. About a week later, Corpse had a server running from his home. He'll have to correct me on this, but I'm thinking it was a Xeon 600mhz or something close. I think he had it at a max of 8 players. For the first little bit, he named it Southern Alabama CS 1.6 in lieu of my server. This was the beginning of his server admin addiction. Fast forward to 5 years later. 6 servers, $300/mo server fees, countless hours maintaining the website.. He has taken this game to levels I would have never attempted. Hats off to this stellar guy.
Now to the point, I haven't played this game competively in a few years, but I would like to wear the n00b tag. After all, I take part credit on n00b even being here in the first place haha.
If Corpse doesn't respond to this, make sure he at least reads it =) The old times, I'm sure, will bring a smile to his face. Kano, Fueltanker, etc. HAHAHA the gay LAN party we went to in Pensacola. Come back home to Alabama baby Buzz!

I recommend special action on this one. I would support an immediate vote of yes for the tag.
I agree with everything he said except...
... it was an AMD K6-2/450 cpu in that first POS machine, and the player max was 7.
LOL!
Back in the day,... boy that takes me back in time. I'm not sure when I changed it from Southern Alabama CS 1.6 to Southern Alabama n00bfest and then just to n00bfest.
You know, I was actually an ANTI-Counter-Strike person until I found the Southern Alabama server that Doofy was running. I had been a HUGE fan of TFC and played with the #1 ranked OGL team "Clan Chowder" back then. I got hooked on CS because it was a lot of fun playing with Kano, Doofy, Fueltanker, Yoda and the rest of the White Trash gang.
The rest, as they say, is history.

I remember playing with you a couple of times, Doofy. Welcome back, good man.
Oh, and Corpse, I believe you changed it from SANF to n00bfest in January/February 2005. It was right before I got voted in.

I'd prefer Grandpa Sausage.
He always wanted you to cook his brauts with him, but you only really remember the barbeques in therapy sessions.

I really hate that I suck so bad now. Last night, I was like 2 and 11. After I had quit playing Counter-strike, it was all MMO's from then until now. I had gotten into Everquest not long before I brought the server down. Stupid game.. I'd have a college degree if it hadn't been for that piece of garbage hah.
Edit: It may have been just a streak of luck, but tonight, I pulled a 14 and 3 or something like that! I may still have it in me.
