I recently purchased counter strike source because I've heard so much about it. Now I have a crappy Dell computer with a stock graphics card which sucks. I can usually play cz and 1.6 at about 70 fps. Now when I go to play source I play with 9 fps. I was expecting this but I was wondering if anyone knew anyway to fix this (hopefully without buying a new graphics card).

If there are any command I can type into console or anything I can download please let me know. Thanks!

well, you can always go into the video option and try turning down all the settings to like a minimum setting perhaps.

the video card should at least be 64mb....and that's the least.

If anything make sure Shaders in the video options in CSS are set to low. That shit lags me like a....like I'm doing a lot of E-stuff at once (it's not what you think).

If you find a way to close your eyes from the flashbangs, let me know.

look for casey's config, it helps with fps, but its not going to send you over 20 at the most by what you say now.. I have a x1650pro 512mb and I pull usually 20 with casey's config and everything on low. I think its my cpu holding me back though. I bought a 256MB VId card and have 768MB Of memory and I get between 30-60fps.

You can also change your rates, but I'm not sure what to. I would think the same settings used in CZ would work. Mine were done by a friend of mine and I was drunk when he did it so I have no idea what he was doing.

Turn down graphics settings for your card and in CSS and it should help.
