 Memory Help Finally bought a video card and know am looking to go up from 512MB to 1GB of memory.
So I allready have 512MB and would like to save money by just adding another 512MB stick. Can this be done? Does it have to be the exact same stick as what is already in there?
Any help would be great.

Yes you can add another 512 stick and no it doesn't have to be the same.But if one stick is clocked lower then both sticks will default to the lower clocks.As in if you run a 512 stick of ddr 400 with a 512 stick of ddr 333 both will run at the lower clock which is 333.Same with ddr2,and as long as you use matching pairs dual channel should work.

im gonna take a wild guess and assume u odntk now about dual channel, anyway dual channel is better, for example getting two sticks of 512 mb ram is better than getting one stick of 1 gb ram. Its easier for them to make babies.

512mb+512mb=1024mb, whereas 1gb=1000mb. Therefore 1024mb>1000mb Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_06

You can get memory pretty cheap on ebay I got 2gig ddr2 400 off of ebay for 150bucks.
