Greetings all! I have a little time this morning while on vacation in Arkansas (the place where I originally spawned) so I thought I would catch you up on the lastest happenings.

n00bfest.com is getting larger and more diversified. Some of our players are migrating to other games, new games are coming out, and we cannot miss the boat like we did with Source and Battlefield.

The plan is for n00bfest to become more than a CZ playing group. The long term plan would be for n00bfest to be a massive gaming community, catering to all of the most popular games, providing free servers (supported by donations) and webspace/forums for players to communicate with each other.

To that end, the development of different gaming areas for n00bfest.com is in progress!! Shotokan is already working on separate web portals for F.E.A.R., Counter-Strike: Source, and World of Warcraft. This area where you all hang-out now will stay as the Condition Zero area and will not change much. The forums for other games will be removed, so the layout might get a little cleaner.

The staff members for n00bfest.com will remain the same.

Shotokan will be the webmaster over all domains and subdomains, and basically manage our cyberspace presence.

Bullet Catcher will continue to control the sub-clan areas, maintaining the rosters, creating forums, and policing the clan-whoring.

Tucker and Judicator will continue to manage the Condition Zero [n00b] member list, admin list, and server configurations (assisted by Pred as needed).

Pred will have dominion over the new Counter-Strike: Source area and server. Admins for one game will no longer be admins for all games "automatically". Configurations do not have to match. In other words, "n00bfest" for one game can be completely different than "n00bfest" for another game. Pred will decide what is best for the Source area and however he chooses to develop that webspace, configure the server, and grow that section of the community is totally up to him.

Now for Condition Zero... in the past I have laid claim to the CZ area as my own personal litter box. This is where I scratch, shit, spit, and play. I don't play CZ much anymore, so it makes no sense for me to lead it. I will continue to lead "n00bfest" (the whole thing, not just the CZ area) but I will be delegating the leadership of the CZ area to Super Effect. Super has been a friend, teammate, and regular player for years here, and I trust him to make wise and gentle love to the CZ area.

I will be working with Super Effect for a while to help him get started. I suspect there will be some changes with regard to the admins, Council, and overall running of the Condition Zero realm, since there really hasn't been any leadership there to suide those efforts for quite some time (my bad, I got distracted).

As for the FEAR and WoW areas, the leadership structure of those areas is yet to be determined. We need to see if we'll have clans assimilated and become the n00bfest group or if we're growing a crew from our CZ base.

Sounds like a good plan (I'll be "sucking up" to Super later on....). I hope all this goes as planned, that way n00bfest can become larger and more well-known than it already is!

If you play in the CZ servers and you get [n00b] membership and/or admin in those servers, ir doesn't mean you automatically get anything, anywhere else. You would have to actually play FEAR or CSS or WoW and establish yourself in those communities individually.

By the way, regarding the "Elders" group:

I will probably be re-working that group and possibly adding people to it. The Elders will not be game-specific and really won't have any greater authority on any particular game than a high level admin.

The Elders will consist of people who contribute financially or physically (with labor) to n00bfest. In a sense, they will be stakeholders in the "business" of n00bfest, and their contributions entitle them to a voice in the decision-making chambers.

No, this doesn't mean that Snoopy will be an elder, and it doesn't mean that anyojne can "buy" a seat either. What it DOES mean is this - people who have contributed to the growth and popularity of this community (financially or otherwise) should be included in brainstorming sessions to continue the success of the community.

Who knows... maybe one day this thing will actually be worth money, and those "stakeholders" will become "stockholders" and be entitled to a peice of the action (if ever there's actual "action" to be divided).

Viva la n00bfest!! The WoW, CSS, and FEAR sections are almost ready! I'll start a vote on a couple of different "front doors" to the site.
