Since we've only spent about $400 of the surplus we've had since we raised the donation goal in June, I've lowered the donation goal. The extra $300 covers operational costs -- we won't need the extra $100 until we spend what we've already got.

P.S. for anyone who is curious about how our budget breaks down so you know where your hard-earned money is going, here it is:

Dedicated Server: ~$220
Ventrilo: ~$15
Website: ~$40
Domain Registration: ~$5/mo (average -- this is paid every year)
Other accounts/licenses: ~$20/mo

CorpseHumper still handles all the finances and I haven't been keeping track of how much we've got in surplus. I'm sure it's enough to finance some pretty nice prizes similar to what we had for our last tournament -- or better/more. I'll be meeting with him later this week for some various things, and then I'll meet with our tournament coordinators to discuss prizes etc.

Also, an important note. THE VENTRILO SERVER'S IP ADDRESS WILL BE CHANGING EFFECTIVE THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 3RD! If you can't log into Ventrilo on that date, come to the forum and get the new information. It'll be posted as soon as it's available. We will also be adding a password to it that will be posted in the n00b members area. Non-n00bs wishing to use our ventrilo server will have to get the password from a member. This is to help avoid vent-trolls and douchebags.

When we get the new IP, is it going to go up in slots? I know for the open council meeting several people were kicked to try to get more in and we still didn't have enough slots. Right now we are at 35/50 and there is only 1 person in the scrim channel. Add 6-7 new people since someone from another chan would probably scrim and we are above 40. For the tourney there are probably going to be 8 teams. 8*5=40, so that would leave 10 people that aren't playing to be in the vent max.

We'll be going up to 75 slots within the next week.

If we're getting rid of the current Vent server, why not get Mumble instead? It'll be cheaper, and from everything I've heard it's better then Vent.

Is it not going to be a west coast server anymore?

If it were Central that would probably suit us better.

Actually to move it more closer to our game server (Texas) would suite us better. If you look at the locale of our players most are in the south shit a good handful are just in one area. Not to mention I think servers hosted there are quite awesome; physical location isn't always the best it's all on logical links.

Why don't we compromise and go South and Central both and do this shit in Compton?
