Welcome to n00bfest.com v4.0! The forum is now powered by a much more powerful and robust system. There are tons of new features that everyone needs to get used to, so there may be some growing pains... but that's what life's all about.

First off, I'd like to thank fomenta for helping me out with this huge project. I say he helped me out, when in actuality he did most of the grunt work. Fomenta was a n00bfest rct, but since he's given somewhere in the neighborhood of $5,000 of free programming and consulting services to make this possible, I've seen fit to name him the new n00bfest Lead Webmaster. Fomenta is now a n00b with Staff-level admin. Congrats, fomenta!

There are some new features that I'll go ahead and tell you about now:
- There's a shoutbox. The link is at the top of the forum, right in the middle. You asked for it -- we delivered.
- The forum now supports attachments. You can now post pictures and whatnot without having to use imageshack or photobucket.
- There is a "Report Post" icon on each post. It's a little [!] button at the bottom right-hand corner. Feel free to use it if someone is being a douchebag. Moderators will review the post and take action.
- There is a warning system in place. Users who act like douchebags will get warned. You get warned enough, and we'll ban you for however long we feel necessary.
- Some forums may require "Approval" before your reply or new thread will be visible to the public. This is intended to cut down on spam and flame wars, and will only be used in situations where it is necessary; don't expect to see this in the General Discussion.


There are many more changes to come, although they'll likely be one-at-a-time, and over the course of a few months. Current plans are:
- More robust server monitoring and ventrilo web-applications than what are currently running (CorpseHumper has already paid the license fee to make this possible; right now, it's just a matter of getting it properly configured)
- Player Kill Stats, updated daily
- Additional Links (n00bfest.com email, store, etc)
- New enhancements to admins' ban reporting system
- More header animations with more violence, humpin', and degradation

That's gone like a motherfucker. That script was in place because phpNuke is a buggy piece of shit that is full of security holes. phpBB3, which runs this site, is as tight as a 12-year-old.

Lovely site too, love the simplcity and functionality, though I think maybe the color scheme (mainly in the forum) is kinda hard to see but than again I'm used to that grey orange shit so it might just be my eyes needed adjusting.

If you like how the site --looks-- thank Gman. He made the entire header graphic and tweaked the graphics like a motherfucker. He was also the vision behind it and the drive to roll it out, but I guess thats what makes him the HNIC.

Also, all the links in the forums to posts in the old forum should now redirect automatically to links to posts in the new forum.
