These are the new ranks. For all of you old school Generals: You're now a Colonel. You haven't lost anything, you've actually gained some commands. It's just a change in Status. Please read each rank description before you make a comment on where you stand. Hope you enjoy!

Rank 1 -rct: Role: All new recruits start as [rct]. They must seek to prove their worthiness. All recruits begin with this rank. As a newcomer to a group it is the newcomers responsibility to adapt to the group, not for the group to change to the individual. At this rank, the rct will be allowed wear the [rct] tag on their name. After they advance to the rank of Private they will be able to wear the [n00b] tag. To begin with, your name will be [rct] Name.

Recruits are responsible for working towards proving themselves to the community. They are also strongly encouraged to become active members of the forums. This is suggested of all ranks, and required by some.

Rank 2 - Private: Role: The rank of Private is a trusted recruit that is able to function effectively within group activities. The Private will be expected to follow the loose rules of the community, like no board spamming, no douche bag actions towards the senior staff. At this point, your name will be [n00b] Name.

Privates are responsible for maintaining active membership, both in the forums and in game. They are also responsible for having fun and keeping things fun in all interactions with the n00bfest community.

Promotion: To be promoted to Private you must prove that you're able to get along with other members and be signed off by the council.

Rank 3 - Sergeant: Role: Sergeants are initial admins. The will be promoted from the n00b army and will wear the ^ tag after their name. [n00b] Name ^. They will start with the following admin abilities: Slay, Kick, Mute, Spray Tag Tracking, Slap, Single Map Vote, Accept/Refuse Vote They Started, ma_say, ma_chat, ma_psay, ma_rates, Use Admin Menu.

Sergeants are merely responsible for doing that which earned them the promotion, monitoring the game with their initial admin abilities. This rank, requires an active participation in the game and activity on the forums. As well as reporting admin actions taken by the Sergeant on the admin forums.

Promotion: (invite only) To be promoted to Sergeant you must prove yourself to be an outstanding n00b member who strives to be helpful and keep the fun going for others in the game.

Rank 4 - Lieutenant: Role: The Lieutenant is considered a helpful member and proven admin. They have gone above and beyond in most cases because of this, they will have the ability to Slay, Kick, Ban, Swapteam, Mute, Spray Tag Tracking, Slap, Beacon, Single Map Vote, Accept/Refuse Vote They Started, ma_say, ma_chat, ma_psay, ma_rates, ma_dropc4, Use Admin Menu. The Lieutenant has a good working knowledge of the community and is capable of assisting new members in becoming an effective and beneficial member of n00bfest. They will use the name [n00b] Name '.

Aside from advancing their own goals and remaining an active member of the group, Lieutenants will be expected to be active on the forums, (checking them daily) and be an all around helpful member. They have proven they’re able to post infractions on the admin forums to better track problem players.

Promotion: (invite only) To be promoted to Lieutenant from Sergeant, you must have a willingness to dedicate at least several hours (at least 10) a month to meeting your responsibilities as an admin. You must also show that you're able to post infractions made by people who are on our servers.

Rank 5 - Captain: Role: The Captain has proven to be an excellent admin. They're active on the forums and free of complaints of admin abuse. Most captains have proven themselves to not only the Elders and Council of n00bfest, but have shown they're responsible by posting their bans and other infractions made by members of the community. They will use the name [n00b] Name '' or [n00b] Name ". They will have the abilities to Slay, Kick, Ban, Swapteam, Mute, Spray Tag Tracking, Slap, Blind, Freeze, Drug, Burn, Beacon, Single Map Vote, Accept/Refuse Vote They Started, ma_say, ma_chat, ma_psay, ma_rates, ma_dropc4, ma_explode, ma_give cash, Use Admin Menu, Issue Permanent Bans.

Promotion: (invite only) New Captains are recruited from the community, as needed, based on the candidates efforts and willingness to do more. Candidates can also be nominated and voted on by the Elders. If voting is positive, the candidate will be contacted and offered a position as a new Captain. A person may also express interest in this role by contacting anyone who is Captain and above.

Rank 6 - Major: Role: Majors are those people who take up specific tasks the Council needs performed. They are designated or appointed to handle certain activities/disputes within the community by the Council and Elders. They remain highly active on the forums and report all their bans, have proven they're able to use their admin abilities without abusing the power. The will wear the tag [n00b] Name |. They will have the abilities to Slay, Kick, Ban, Swapteam, Mute, Spray Tag Tracking, Slap, Blind, Freeze, Drug, Gimp, Burn, Time Bomb, Fire Bomb, Freeze Bomb, Beacon, Change Map, Random Map Vote, Single Map Vote, Accept/Refuse Vote They Started, ma_say, ma_chat, ma_psay, ma_rates, ma_dropc4, ma_explode, ma_give cash, Use Admin Menu, Issue Permanent Bans.

Responsibilities: They are expected to have expert knowledge of the n00bfest community. They are active in all phases of n00bfest operations. They are also called upon by the Elders to mediate at times or intervene in n00bfest violations. They are the power house of the community.

Most Majors will either be an active Council member, or one that has served on the council at some point and time. Note: Some Council members may hold lesser ranks, being on the Council does not mean an automatic promotion to Major.

Promotion: (invite only) Promotion by the Elders only.

Rank 7 - Colonel: Role: Colonel is the highest rank that will be obtained by most members of n00bfest. They are members whose loyalty has not gone un-noticed and who have been recognized for their direct contributions to the n00bfest community. They will use the name [n00b] Name ||. They will have the abilities to Slay, Kick, Ban, Swapteam, Client Commands, Mute, Spray Tag Tracking, Slap, Blind, Freeze, Drug, Gimp, Teleport, Burn, Noclip, Time Bomb, Fire Bomb, Freeze Bomb, Beacon, Change Map, Question Vote, Random Map Vote, Single Map Vote, Cancel Vote, Accept/Refuse Vote They Started, Non Menu Question Vote, ma_say, ma_chat, ma_psay, ma_rates, ma_dropc4, ma_explode, ma_give cash, Use Admin Menu, Issue Permanent Bans.

Responsibilities: They are expected to maintain the very conduct that brought them to this rank. They are active users of the forums. They help advise the Council and Elders on all matters as necessary.

Rank 8 - General: The Generals are below Gman. This rank is populated mostly by people who have shown that they are the most trusted people that n00bfest knows. In some cases, it's an honorary rank that holds no true duties or the prerequisites or obligations that people usually have to go through to climb through the ranks. They're to be respected and thought of as being on equal ground with the HNIC, because they are. Since you can only have one true n00bfest leader, they were put into this rank, the highest rank that anyone can achieve. They are made up of people that created n00bfest and others who have proven to be invaluable to the n00bfest community. These are the Elders and Ancients of the n00bfest community. They will have unrestricted admin available and have shown that they're able to use these abilities wisely. Some of them may wear a tag, some not, it's at their discretion. Most will wear the [n00b] Name * tag if they wish, or not.

Some of the Generals take on this role:

These are people who have the ability to oversee that all n00b rules are being followed. These people are the arbitrators for the community. They are able to speak as the HNIC when he's absent, even above all other ranks. This rank carries all the duties and responsibilities of all the other ranks above. A coveted position indeed if you're a true leader of the people. They oversee the forums and keep HOMOSEXUAL spammers from spammity spam spamming the forums. They oversee all other ranks to ensure that everyone is doing their “job”. They are capable of making decisions in the community in the absence of Gman. They have the power to demote, as well as remove, people from n00bfest at their discretion. This is a heavy position to fill indeed, because it involves a lot of time to oversee the above mentioned areas therefore they will not be expected to be active in the game or forums, but are encouraged to participate as time allows.

Rank 9 - n00bfest HNIC: Gman. He is responsible for delegating authority to all other ranks to get tasks done and help to keep things organized. Gman is in charge of the top-level administration of all things n00bfest. Got a problem with the server or site? Got a problem with another member? Report it to Gman -- he'll fix it. He fixes everything. Also, he's God.

Finally, a note on ranks. When you enter the server, you're able to see who is wearing the [n00b] tag and what rank they have. For some commands, like map changing, the higher rank will have the final say on the server. If someone of a higher rank asks you to calm down or stfu, do so. Respect everyone, especially those that have obtained a higher rank. n00bfest is a community of fun and camaraderie. We play on the servers together and get to know each other through the games AND the forums. You'll notice that some ranks do not require you to go to the forums, so, if you want to obtain a higher rank, you must participate in the forums to achieve some of those ranks. Forum participation keeps everyone up to date on who is in and who is out, who did this and who did that. It keeps people from having to ask, "What happened to so and so" or "Where is whatshisnuts". Many times, if you take 10-15 minutes checking the forums before you get into game, you'll be able to know this already.

So, regular n00b members have nothing after their names, admin levels are required to wear the following denotation after their names, in short, they are:

Sergeant = [n00b] Name ^
