John Butler Trio is with out a doubt one of my favorite bands, and John Butler is my favorite guitarist hands down, even thought of by some as the best guitarist of the day. JBT is one of those bands that is ten times better live than they are on a CD or on the radio. This year I was lucky enough to see JBT live in Boston with State Radio. John's acoustic is absolutely filthy and the song 'Ocean' is probably the best example of it. The best version of the song was at the Rothbury last year. Listen to the entire song, its just about 11 minutes long and he shreds it all the way through. He is on another planet when he plays and makes sounds like no other.
