Yeah, I heard nothing but bad stuff about this game. I mean, it was pretty unrealistic to think that it'd be amazing after all of the bru haha surrounding its release and the time it actually took to release it. Duke Nukem helped get the FPS ball rolling, but how can we expect it to revolutionize the genre?

The reviews pushed it a little far though, it's not THAT bad, the multiplayer blows, the graphics aren't too great, but the game itself is still fun (minus the driving part that lasts forever). It's a Duke Nukem game, it's fun, you'd laugh, not the game of the year though.

Ive played the game and its not bad at all. I think all these reviewers were expecting MW3 instead of Duke Nukem.

after all the shit this game went through, i really didnt expect it to be all that great. On the other hand, from the screen shots i've seen, there should be some hilarious shit.

I dont understand what the issue is here. It was pretty clear that this game was developed in a different era. It's engine didnt undergo a redux or overhaul once it reached 2010, let alone 2000.

On top of that, it wasn't built to be a evolutionary change of the genre. It was built to be like how Super Mario Bros. And the new Donkey Kong was for the Wii; a nice reawakening of the series and what people played it to be for.

People need to stop looking at all shooters like how they see next gen shooters. Some are just to help satisfy nostalgia and bring smiles to old memories. I'm pretty happy for what Duke Nukem is, and if I wanted a refined multiplayer experience with great CTF and KotH gameplay, I'll go play TF2.

And for the record, I'm far from a Duke Nukem fan, I enjoy mildly the game itself because the whole genre in story driven shooters dont excite me.

Duke Nukem was always just ultra hyped at a time when there were shooters infinitely better than it. It's not surprising that the remake was shitty.

Back in the day when Duke Nukem was hailed as a great shooter (below the quake/doom series), one of the underdogs was "Shadow Warrior". Even in this day and age there is not a better single player shooter out there. If you've never played it you don't know what you're missing.
