Actually, if you notice the message of the day, it says that all sniper rifles except the scout may cause you to be abused.
Mostly for the entertainment of the rest of the noobs in the server.
Experts with the AWP and AUTOs can and will ruin the good time of every newbie trying to learn the game.
I believe in close combat.... the closer the better.....
Knifes are the best, but a pump shotty blast in the dome is pretty satisfying too.
If I ever run across a script that will regulate the AWP and sniper rifles the way I think they should be, then we'll have a new set of rules.

I still suck with the AWP. Sometimes I would get on a roll and poon some nubes like a madman for 2 whole rounds or something.
The real reason it's banned is because of the non-stop AWP whoring that takes place when it's NOT banned.
