I was wondering your thoughts on this.. I ran into a server today where on T side there was 1 person who called strats and they EVERYONE on t-side had to follow if someone didnt follow they were given 1 warning and then banned. I thought this was pretty cool it makes people do the objective and follow strats. Whats you take on this? If you guys want the IP to this server I will give it to you to see how they run things. I thought it was pretty cool

This would be cool, except we would probably end up banning all of the regulars. Oh and this topic should be in the Open Floor forum.

What yay said, pretty much. I think the idea is cool (minus the whole banning thing), but its something I'd get into outside of n00bfest. The n00bfest id and ego are not compatible with such a model, as it were.

Good idea, wrong place for it. We usually just slay the fags that like to be the last guy alive by hiding then trying to walk around the entire map.

To paraphrase a couple of our more illustrious members,

"n00bfest is a run-only server. This ain't leetfest, it's n00bfest."

I use to play on a server years ago that had lots of rules similar to this.. And it worked well for that group because it was a small player base.

Voice was required.
You could not harm the hosties. As CT or T.
The group made decisions on who went where. It has a 1 minute freeze at begin of round to discuss the strategy.
It had a bleeding system.
It had a better shell shock system.
It had bandages (which only stopped the bleeding)
When your health was so low, depending on where you took dmg you would walk/run slower, or your aim would be all shakey.
The screen also got darker as you lost health.
Bunny hop was banned
What they called crack jumping was banned. (like no standing on signs above doors, door frames, etc...)



As for n00bfest, not gonna work... For one reason, that group of people was very small (maybe 20 people) n00bfest is gargantuan compared to them. Too many people come to n00bfest to be in such a controlled experience.. On 5 v 5 games sure it'd probably work.. But on servers the size of n00bfest its just not possible.

But, i would like to see a slap for the side who has an objective, terrorist or Ct that camp instead of getting bombs or hosties, for those times there is no admins :X !!!
