I wish I had photoshop so I could do transparencies, but alas I tend to obey the law and I haven't decided to buy it yet. Sumopaint is nice but it doesn't do transparencies and GIMP is a pain in the ass.
By the way, I really like your sprays. The color contrasts are amazing.

By the way, I really like your sprays. The color contrasts are amazing. Your post got me itchy, I got some cream for that then tried out SumoPaint and Gimp. I fell in love with SumoPaint, such a powerful browser based paint program with an easy user interface and power. It does transparencies, just not in the way we need them for CSS. You do need to hop in gimp to save the file as a targa .tga, which is what CSS can use. Gimp was not too bad. It has issues with a 'wonky' user interface but that seems to be par for a lot of open source programs I've used. Most of my problems might just be learning curve based stuff. All in all it seems to be a sturdy and likable PS clone. This was done with Gimp only. I jacked a pic of Zim from the internet and used the select tools to rip him off his background then sexed it up a bit with the text tool. This was me playing around with SumoPaint. That app is hawt and I look forward to fiddling around with it. It seems you could do some serious psychedelic shit with it. Since Sumopaint doesn't support .tga I did need to open the file in Gimp and re-save it in the .tga format with the alpha channel. In closing, thanks for turning me on to these programs. TIP---> Save your file with the transparencies in SumoPaint as a .png then just open the file in GIMP > save as a .tga and UNCHECK the RLE compression box in the save dialog. Trying to put together coherent sentences my head hurt.

Re: Bored so I made me some sprays
Nice! Yeah, I knew that .png allows for transparencies but it's not importable into CSS, as you mentioned, so perhaps I'll be able to do some better sprays if I can get over my dislike of Gimp.

Yes, sprays with any transparencies are in .tga (Targa) format. You just need to make an Alpha Channel if using Photoshop. Just remember, no RLE compression.

Please notice the date on the threads you are replying to. You have brought back threads that are almost a year old and dead, which is a bit of an eyesore.

Rule of thumb to all new users: do not post in a thread that is dead and hasn't had a poster in over 6 months.
You've been warned!
