OK my mic is fucked for this game... It does not work at all when I put on like voice button nothing shows up to show that I am talking also I can not hear or see when other people are talking with there mics I go and try to turn my mic on for the game and all it keeps doing is shutting back off but it is still working on my computer just not for the game I am wondering if anyone can help me with my stupid mic thank you for all the help

Can't admins make it so people cant talk on their mics? I'm not saying thats it, but this topic reminded me and I'm not sure.

Yeah but I can not talk on any server I tried like 20 different servers I dunno

LOL the pro admin_rcon execclient the pro "voice_enable 0" pwned I told him he had to reinstall everything to fix it..funny thing is he did HAHAHAHAAHA

most likely the box with enable voice in game is checked off if not check advanced properties for mic.

well while this topic is here, My mic is screwed too, When I open up sound recorder and ventrilo it sounds fine, but when it comes to CZ, it sounds like shit (Like I'm under water)

any suggestions, I've done everything possible.

reinstall again. aka uninstall steam, Delete the folder if it still remains and do a clean install. or you can delete your config file and see if its a cvar setting.

Do a cvarlist in console and refrence your cvars to this list.

BTW thi is my 1337'st post yet

I just got a new HD and a fresh re-install and it still does it. My pc during everyday uses used to skip and stutter because there was something wrong with my harddrive and the 7600RPM's it should have dropped almost 50% in performance causing it to overload itself. That's what I thought the problem was, but It's obviously not. My specs are below tell me if you see anything that could cause a hardware conflict.

Maybe the plug ins busted?

Have you tried:

Control Panel>Sounds Speech etc.>"Voice" Tab>"Test Hardware" Button.

Sometimes if I plug my mic in it won't work until I do that.

As for you, Zero, did you try going to Sounds Speech etc. on the Control Panel and making sure your volume is turned up?

like I said, my mic works in all programs except games.

on top of all that other advice check your key bindings on what you use for ingame mic chatter.

esc key/options/voice make sure your mic is enabled for the game.

esc key/options/keyboard/voice/use voice communications line: check what keyboard key is binded to your mic chatter.

my mic is also not working, it works fine in vent but in cs when ever i talk its like i press the talk key repeatedly while talking, only im not.

well me sound will not turn up on voice thing I like turn it up then when I apply it goes back to nothing and when I press talk button nothing shows up in the game I can't see if other people are talking or I can't hear them
