Just so most of you know, n00bfest.com costs over $300/month to maintain normal operation. Most of the elders/generals regularly pitch in money to keep this machine going without a problem, but since it's the holiday season I'm going to ask you guys to help us out if you can.

Corpse kept this place up and running with little help for a very, very long time. He's poured thousands of dollars into this place, so if you can...try and pitch in every now and again.

With more donations, we'll be able to afford more servers and more bells and whistles. Bells and whistles attract sponsors, and sponsors earn more bells and whistles. It's an upward spiral, and all we can do is climb if you guys chip in some cash every now and again.

I pitch in when i can. Money's tight though (married w/ kids will know what i'm saying...).

It might be a good idea to setup 2 types of donations. One that could be a one-time/whenever you can afford/want to donate, and another one that is monthly (set amount) via PayPal. To entice further donations create a forum strictly for donors..

I don't think a forum for donors would do much, already people are having a hard time transitioning to using the members forum...but I dunno what else, maybe some sort of reserved slot status based on how much you donate...

This already exists. It's called a subscription. A donors forum isn't a bad idea, but we've already got enough private forums that don't get used as much as they could.

Hmmm I didn't know about the subscription. My bad(link plz). Well possibly another thing is with avatar's. Setup the forum that only Elder's(or someone in charge) can change someone's avatar(whether it is your own or you want to avatar snipe someone) for a small fee.

n00bfest.com is free and will always be free for those who want a place to come play games, so I can't really forsee any sort of restrictions we'd place on someone that they can pay to have lifted (like that avatar thing).

I'd much rather have people send in money because they love the community and the servers.

Good point. But the avatar sniping could be fun.... and profitable....

with christmas coming up, I can't promise much with a large CC bill looking me in the face after the holiday. However, I can atleast chuck $5 or $10 corpse's way now. I'll do that when I get home from work tonight.
