Yeah...basically I never click on any links people send me that aren't relevant to what we're talking about, or don't have a seperate explanation afterwards...and it's always trouble when people you havn't talked to in years im you with "Hey Babe! Check out my hott pics!". Also, don't go to any url sent that ends in (obviously .exe) but also other unusual extensions. Basically, unless it's a site you recognize, I wouldn't open it until you've talked to whoever sent it, in a way that makes you sure it's not an aimbot. Oh, sometimes it helps to check their profile and see if they've got "symptoms" in there, such as that one "NEW YEARS PARTAY 2003" link that everyone had for a while.

As I said to kazz earlier, the idea behind this is old. (Having people click links to dupe the virus.)

I've clicked on many links from friends that have various viruses. Some: "lol does this look like you? http://www.lolmalicouslink.com/mewithboobs.jpg" "lol have you seen this yet? http://www.lolcrycry.com/peasgreatertin.jpg"

I've wised up, and even made fun of people with them. One girl I know IM'd me with a virus, and I called her "virus girl virus girl!" She told me to shut the phuck up. :(

Anyways.. the fix:

http://www.jayloden.com/aimfix.htm

Run this and it should remove all AIM viruses you currently have.

believe me I know Tucker! it's F*CKING simple but most people are still stupid enough to click on shit or accept things they shouldn't. that's how most viruses spread...stupid users. what makes this threat more deceptive is that it actually has a little AI embeded in it to communicate with the potential target. Still, don't click on something or allow a transfer of something you don't know about...that's the bottom line. :D
