Post static in speakers & headphones
for a while this has happened, when i have my amp on "tv" mode it plays sound that comes from my computer (since i show my support to my artists by downloading their music) but after a couple minutes my speakers start to make a pretty loud static noise, but when i have it on dvd or cd it never happens.

then sometimes when i have my headphones plugged in i notice the same thing, static coming out of them pretty clearly. the amp and speakers i have are only a year old and a really good set, and my headphones are HD555's and when i listen to my ipod with them, it doesn't happen.

my soundcard is an onboard soundmax digital audio (yes its nothing amazing) and my motherboard is an ASUSTeK Computer INC. P4PE REV for whatever that's worth.

thx u

no, that doesnt seem to be the problem. the only thing electronic that's on and near my computer is my regular house phone, my router, and my cell which i have turned off anyway. i unplugged my headset and headphones, rebooted, and plugged them back in but it still has the static

i also have that problem

my computer and tv and whatnot are plugged into my surround sound.

when its on computer it gets staticy (almsot like the hum you get when its not grounded properly)

when its on tv or my dvd player its fine

i think its either my cable from my puter to the surround sound, my sound card, the cable i mentioned eailer isnt grounded properly somewhere or a 4th reason which is kinda odd that meh

i swear my computer makes it buzz like that but whatever it would be easier to explain with my voice then typing

Unfortunately, its your sound card... or your on-board POS. The same thing happens to me with my audigy 2, though at a very low level ( I have my headphones plugged into an amp as well). If you're an audiophile, you'll want to go to a music store and get one of those professional sound cards... they use better parts and materials. The static you're hearing is your amp amplifying the noise both inherent in yoru sound cards circuitry and the noise picked up from all the other electronics in the computer. The professional sound cards I assume have more shielding and more state of the art components. I was told by the music store that Creative is good for most stuff, but very medocre for musicians.

yes zong, i tried muting/unplugging it while my computer is on, im not retarded.

yeah doc, but with an onboard card doesn't that usually mean its tough to swap out? if it isn't ill get a creative audigy z 2 or a nice card i can easily fix it, i just didnt know what could be done in terms of getting rid of my onboard one.

btw zong, what i look like or doc? i'm about 6'3 220, im a avid lifter and i play football/basketball and im 15 1/2

Wait, wait, wait, LV.

Inherently by being "onboard" it's part of the motherboard and there's no real way to get rid of it other than bustin' up the motherboard.

BUT, you can disable it in BIOS. So all you'd have to do is disable it in BIOS and then install a new card.

By the way, I really haven't read this post at all, so in case this is irrelevant, kick me in the balls.

yeah its an onboard card on the motherboard and ill definately check it out soon, i need to do some computer cleaning so when i do i will.

once i disable it is it safe to actually physically remove it, or do i have to leave it in and install a seperate card?

It should be souldered on there real good. I highly doubt you can remove it, but once it's disabled, it won't bother you at all because the motherboard will act like it's not even there.

Are Angry Kitten and DocWonder the only ones who have any idea what they're talking about in this thread?

Yes.

Well I think you should build your own computer, completely customized. That way, you don't have to care about a thing! and yes, Gman, they are
